We need policies and programs that meet people where they are, not where the system says they should be.

That means creating pathways to homeownership that don’t punish families for circumstances outside their control, offering tools, counseling, & fair financing that opens the door, not closes it.

The truth is: credit scores are often shaped by systemic barriers redlining, predatory lending, medical debt, and economic injustice not by someone’s character or potential as a homeowner.

Ward 4 families told over & over that their credit score defines whether they deserve a chance to buy a home.

Homeownership is a cornerstone of stability and wealth but for too many in our community, it feels out of reach.

Because everyone in our community deserves the opportunity to put down roots, build equity, and create generational stability no matter what their credit score is.
