Reminder that #ncfc have scored more goals than any other team in the EFL in 2026. We don’t need Sargent (not convinced he’s better than any of the three strikers we have anyway), but £20m could be very handy.

I’ve weirdly fallen back in love with football this season. Three mid-table seasons (yes we made the playoffs but we were never going to win them) makes you indifferent to it. Having something to play for - hopefully with a happy ending - makes you care so much more.

I still don’t understand the way Rowe or Nunez chose to leave the club but with Sargent I do get it. A home World Cup would be the pinnacle of his career and he is much more likely to get in the US squad at Toronto than a struggling #NCFC side with no creativity.

Rightly so to be fair, they all make about a million quid a year and were rubbish. Once we’re out of the relegation zone he’ll probably give them days off!

Swansea got noticeably better under Martin, Blackburn got noticeably worse and were terrible for three quarters of JDT’s tenure. Martin also got promoted with Southampton, PL squad or not you can only beat what’s put in front of you. My preference would be for neither though.

I do find it odd that people turn their nose up at Russell Martin, who has had nothing but success in the Championship, but would be happy with JDT who had one Championship job and was a total disaster for the last three quarters of it?

Just to add to this, JDT got 40 points from his first 20 games at Blackburn.

He then got just 62 points from the following 55 games until he was sacked. That’s 1.1 points per game - which would relegate us. #ncfc

Okay, what about the fact that the season before that he managed just 29 points from the final 26 league games? The guy basically coasted on his first 20 games for almost a year and a half #ncfc

That last paragraph suggests that Attanasio doesn’t trust him but what else are they meant to do? Whether we like it or not he is the best person we have to find us a new head coach. Who else is going to do it?

Knapper has made a terrible mistake in appointing Liam Manning whether he acknowledges himself or not. He might actually be able to save his own job if he actually admits his very obvious error instead of sticking his head in the sand. #ncfc

People should have a right to protest but the problem I have is that I’m not sure even they know what exactly they are protesting
