I keep trying to have a coherent response to the Epstein files but until all of the files are released & independent journalists have investigated we will not know the full extent. It seems better to have them released this way than languishing in a private investigation by this administration.

Keep calling @hickenlooper.bsky.social and @bennet.senate.gov It’s beyond quietly saying they will vote no on DHS funding, it’s publicly calling on their colleagues to vote no and doing whatever they can to abolish ICE.

Following the killing of AFGE Member Alex Pretti and the subsequent slanderous rhetoric that followed from top Trump administration officials, AFGE National President Everett Kelley issued the following statement: “Yesterday, AFGE brought together labor and faith leaders from Minneapolis and across the nation to mourn our fallen brother from Local 3669, Alex Pretti. We honored his life and legacy and lifted up his family, his friends, his union, Minneapolis, and our nation in prayer. “Today, we demand accountability. “In the immediate aftermath of Alex’s killing, DHS Secretary Kristi Noem betrayed the public trust by slandering the good name of our union brother and calling him a “domestic terrorist.” Alex Pretti was a patriotic ICU nurse at a VA hospital who devoted his life to serving America’s veterans. That claim was reckless, defamatory, and unsupported by the facts. Noem was preceded in this false statement by Stephen Miller, Deputy White House Chief of Staff, who is also the architect of the chaotic and failed immigration policy in Minnesota. “Our demand is clear: Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, who was responsible for carrying out the policy that led to Alex’s needless killing, and Deputy White House Chief of Staff Stephen Miller, the architect of that policy, must resign immediately. Correction there was repeated sewage in his cell, no heat, and reduced access to medical care and medication.

Edwin was brought to the U.S. as a child and was the main breadwinner in their household.

This is based on my understanding of the situation.

Again we do not know the status of the four other men who were all Spanish speakers (Edwin is bilingual) or the status of the elderly man who was beaten.

Edwin began to rapidly lose weight as food was inadequate and Marivel was not allowed to purchase food for him from the commissary. There was also repeated sewage from the toilet and he was moved around to avoid the toilet.

We do not know the status of this elderly man. Five men including Edwin wanted to testify about this elderly man’s treatment.
They were transferred to Diamondback, an unfinished ICE facility in Oklahoma.

Edwin and Marivel were on their way to pick up Edwin’s kids for the holidays when Edwin was kidnapped by ICE. At the Blue Bonnet ICE facility, he (allegedly) witnessed an elderly man being beaten from the shower naked and then removed bloody on a gurney.
