Artturi Lehkonen will not play tomorrow in Anaheim.

Bednar says he’s going to miss some time.

That was disgusting. All three Canadian Olympians for the Avalanche combine for the go-ahead goal.

Devon Toews scores just his 2nd goal of the year on a ridiculous feed by MacKinnon. 3-2.

Lehkonen will not return, upper-body injury.

Landeskog from Burns and Necas.

2-0

Landeskog to Necas to MacKinnon and it's 1-0.

#41 for MacKinnon.

After β€˜amazing’ Olympic experience, Nathan MacKinnon ready for deep playoff run with Avalanche LOS ANGELES β€” A fan in the Salt Lake City crowd last week had quickly whipped up a bootleg t-shirt with a photo of a disappointed Nathan MacKinnon following Canada’s gold medal defeat at the hands of ...

Nathan MacKinnon loved his Olympic experience. Now he’s re-adjusting back to regular season hockey with the Avalanche with his sights set on a long playoff run.

β€œI'm really happy to be back and try to chase down home ice here.”

Asked about Valeri Nichushkin, who has only scored goals in 2 of the last 24 games.

β€œI like his work ethic…I feel like he’s been beating up the puck a little bit this year.”

Said he’s been dealing with a wrist issue at times that β€œseems to be better now.”

Nathan MacKinnon said he was dealing with a β€œcouple of things” over in Milan when asked about health speculation. β€œNothing too crazy,” he said.

Loved the Olympic experience overall.

β€œI had an amazing time. It was a really unique hockey experience. Nothing but good memories.”

Looks like Blackwood in net tonight against LA.

02.03.2026 19:20 β€” πŸ‘ 12    πŸ” 1    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Wasn’t sure if the Avs wanted an empty net goal or not there but Makar finishes off his second of the night to make it 3-1.

01.03.2026 01:33 β€” πŸ‘ 18    πŸ” 1    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

No power play goal...but a goal immediately after the power play ends by Cale Makar. 1-1

It does look like the Avs are giving Martin Necas a longer look on the wall with Nathan MacKinnon down low. And the Hawks are giving Nate a ton of room, it just hasn't connected yet.

01.03.2026 00:41 β€” πŸ‘ 14    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Avs look slow to start this one. Toews takes a pretty obvious hooking penalty and Bedard just ripped one over Blackwood's shoulder on the power play.

1-0 Chicago.

Well, I was skeptical because reboots rarely work (looking at you, Arrested Development).

But the first two episodes of the Scrubs reboot were quite good. Might be time to rewatch the OG because the first five seasons of that show are close to perfect.

Avs fail to convert on the power play and the Wild bank another goal in off an Avalanche defender.

3-1

Avalanche power play starts with clean slate after Olympics break | NHL Insider As Eddie Vedder once said, it makes more sense to live in the present tense. That’s how Jared Bednar chooses to view his power play. Yes, the Avalanche have the worst power play in the NHL, converting...

🎢Makes much more sense
To live in the present tense🎢

That’s how Jared Bednar and the Avs are choosing to view things with their power play. Post-Olympic break, it’s a clean slate.

And that started Wednesday.

β€œI loved (the power play)," Makar said.

Cale Makar is now the longest tenured d-man on the #GoAvsGoΒ  D. He spoke about Sam Girard last night.

β€œHe was amazing to me. When I was young, he helped me a lot. I stayed at his place for like a month at the beginning of my first season.”

Did ask Bednar about keeping Necas in that spot on the PP moving forward.

β€œYeah, we’ll see. That’s kind of Nate’s spot, but we’ve talked about a few different things coming out of this. Some things that we would definitely want to improve on from the first half.”

Jared Bednar says he expects Nathan MacKinnon to play tomorrow against Minnesota.

26.02.2026 05:12 β€” πŸ‘ 25    πŸ” 1    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

The Avalanche come out of the break and win 4-2 minus the leading goal scorer in the NHL.

Not bad.

Martin Necas, taking over Nathan MacKinnon's spot on the power play, blasts home a one-timer to make it 4-2.

We saw that one-timer a few times at the Olympics.

The Mammoth are allowing Parker Kelly to cook tonight. Can't do that. Victor Olofsson picks up his first road goal of the season and it's 2-0.

Sweet fancy Moses, Parker Kelly just went through all of Utah and makes it 1-0.

That was pretty.
