Nazem Kadri’s last playoff game was Game 6 of the 2022 Stanley Cup Final.
Sunday wasn’t a playoff game, but felt like one.
“It was nice to just immediately be thrown into the fire,” he said.

I know it was 30% going into today since the break, and Wallstedt robbed Necas blind a few times. Process wise, it looks significantly better. The SH goal…not sure what Toews and Burns were doing. Burns should not be on the PP anymore

Landeskog joked around with a few of us after last game with the location of where that shot from Makar hit him.
“Not a comfortable one,” Bednar said. “That’s the time frame the doctors gave us.”
Nathan MacKinnon wins it for the Avalanche.
Hell of a game.
The Avs are 0-for-5 on the power play (-1 technically)...but unlike earlier in the season, they've actually created good looks tonight. Wallstedt has made some great stops, especially on Necas.
But then again, they're 0-for-5. Tough to win games with a night like that.
Nathan MacKinnon...from Nazem Kadri. Turnover by Quinn Hughes on the reversal.
1-0 Avs.
Gabriel Landeskog is out today, is week to week with lower body injury.

It was a great Friday for the Avalanche. They beat the Stars, got Nazem Kadri, and none of the big name C’s available ended up in the Central.
That and some other deadline notes in this week’s NHL Insider.

A lot to talk about from that #GoAvsGo comeback over Dallas. Nichushkin, Wedgewood, Necas...but the PP may have some mojo.
“We’ve changed up the routine a bit,” MacKinnon said. “I’m on the goal line a little bit more. Just trying to study other units.

Chris MacFarland didn't empty the cupboard on Friday, but it's pretty bare. It had to be done for Kadri.
He understood the assignment. Now we see how this plays out.
"It’s what happens on the ice over the next month and into the playoffs.”

Avs win 5-4 in a shootout
Valeri Nichushkin looked like he got his swagger back.
"I think my head almost hit the ceiling I was so excited," Nazem Kadri said of coming back to the Avalanche.
Can't wipe the smile off his face.
Asked MacFarland if this Kadri deal would have been possible without retention from Calgary's end.
"Retention was an important part of the equation for us," he said.
If healthy, this roster would be cap compliant for the playoffs. Bednar mentioned Roy's ability to play wing today.
Landeskog - MacKinnon - Necas
Lehkonen - Nelson - Nichushkin
Colton - Kadri - Roy
Kelly - Drury - LOC
Toews - Makar
Manson - Burns
Kulak - Malinski
Blackwood
Wedgewood
It turns out you can go home again.

Nic Roy was plenty productive for a 3C prior to this season, so is the drop-off him or is it more related to the Leafs?
His skating in the Avs system will be interesting to watch but this guy was a pain to play against while in Vegas.
