If you spend too much time talking to AI, your lexicon & opinions start reflecting back into themselves and you sound like everyone else who talks to AI

Thus it seems wise to only use AI for specific use cases and gather info / data from outside that system to retain your edge

Yeah in my case, I never had any traditional job save for fast food / camp counselor, and a remote/hybrid role at a tiny but fast growing startup (not a traditional career path)

Tend to agree - it's just a codification of what's existed in traditional media, I do think internet creators are 'more parasocial' because they're not playing characters, it's just their actual personality (for the most part)

Totally - honestly way harder in text-only than video/image based, b/c the parasocial relationship is harder to solidify!

Creator businesses aren't special anymore - they're normal

And like every trend, the strategies are getting played out

Remember 80% SMS open rates? Yeah, those days are gone. My SMS inbox has a spam folder now. Same thing's happening here

Thoughts?

Post-pandemic reality check: many creators will only ever make part-time money (and that's OK)

Each niche only has room for a few BIG winners. Power law is undefeated

TV viewers are the new frontier

Expect more passive consumption channels and longer videos

YouTube remains king. Why?

They absorb + improve features from competitors while maintaining the best monetization

All roads still lead to YouTube and probably will for a long time

The a sneaky opportunity I think nobody's seizing: Creator-led SaaS products

Instead, we're drowning in "how to be like me" courses nobody needs

"Content to commerce" isn't a business model - it's just ONE channel

Creators banking everything on their audience are building houses of cards

Gotta spin up paid, influencer, TV, direct mail, etc.
