It's been over 20 years since the last classic wuxia movies (Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, Hero, House of Flying Daggers, The Grandmaster) came out!

I loved that Yuen Woo Ping focuses on bringing a real classic wuxia epic onto the big screen! Real classic meaning in terms of the traditional wuxia spirit and alternate universe world-building. Yuen has done the honor of preserving the authentic wuxia film legacy! 😍

Yes, in cinema. The movie premiered globally on Feb. 17 (1st day of Chinese New Year).

He is great as Guo Jing in Legend of Heroes:Hot Blooded! Will look for Rise of Ning 😍

I've heard of that, but haven't seen the drama yet - will look for it. Ci Sha plays Guo Jing very well in 2024 Legend of Heroes: Hot Blooded.

The desert setting is eerily atmospheric and reminds one of the 1992 New Dragon Gate Inn setting. The theme of justice & grassroots' struggle for survival resembles A Deadly Secret by #JinYong. I was most impressed with #ChenLijun 's (FL) and #CiSha 's (villain) acting!!

In sum, NOT TO BE MISSED!

Saw this action-packed #wuxia epic yesterday and was floored!
Two thumbs up to #YuenWooPing the No. 1 #martialarts choreography expert! Every fight scene bears his signature which impacts by force & speed (with no CGI). 1/2

Yup, I found that out in the 1st episode and was hooked from that point. Then the story totally grabbed me.

It's available to rent for $5.99 as well on most services.

If you missed this on the big screen, here's the good news....

I almost missed this gem because of my biases towards the ML. He just didn't impress me back then when I tried a few episodes from the middle of the first TV release. 😊

- Who Rules the World (good story of romance mixed with court power struggles);
- Joy of Life S. 1 (hilarious dialogue due to clash of modern mentality and ancient customs);
- Dashing Youth (#HouMinghao charms his way as Baili Dongjun through jianghu ventures).

I'm sure I've seen Chen Daoming in other dramas but can't remember which. I think he played Qin Shihuang in Hero if I remember correctly 😊
