HA it's scifi...set who knows how many years in the future, a tidy little socially homogenized way to describe someone beyond mammalian binary gender structure makes SO much sense....But is 'Xir' overdone?... Ze and Hir have their appeal... Bit of scifi zing...

I say this mostly because in scene-forward 3rd person writing of more than one character, you do have to get a little inventive with 'They' to make sure the reader knows you're referring to a singular person amid a group

NOT IMPOSSIBLE, I'm really impressed at how well done this is often, tho...

I'm at that point in the furry scifi writing journey where I realize I would really like to include more Non-binary characters....and how SUPREMELY easier this would narratively be if I used or invented a third pronoun...
