More specifically, very recent infection displayed reduced IFNg production and more geared towards IL2 and TNF while TB disease was associated with dual production of IFNg and TNF.

Key take homes: 1) measuring polyfunctional cells can increase assay specificity, 2) infection stage is associated with specific cytokine patterns
