Goal Tales: The Return Of The King - by Tayo Popoola For the week that’s in it, here’s something cool from DJ Tayo, you might remember him from such podcasts as The Tuesday Club and … er … well, that’s about it. Thierry Henry returned to Arsenal in 2012...

Happy Return Of The King day.
I made a short audio doc remembering Thierry v Leeds goal. Here is the extended anniversary, posted as a podcast on @arseblog.com .Was a while ago now, so put it in front of some new gooners who might not have heard it, ta. shows.acast.com/arseblog/epi...

HIV and alcohol misuse among miners in Zimbabwe Zimbabwe has successfully reached the UNAIDS 95-95-95 HIV testing, treatment, and viral suppression targets; however, gaps remain particularly among the growing population of artisanal and small-scale miners, who are highly vulnerable to HIV. Sex work, gender-based violence, and sexual harassment, which are all risk factors for HIV infection, are common in artisanal and small-scale miners’ communities in Zimbabwe.1 More than 50% of artisanal and small-scale miners engaging in extramarital sex reported not using condoms.

Our article on HIV & Alcohol Misuse among artisanal miners in Zimbabwe is published πŸ’ƒπŸ½

It is a call to action for research in a high risk group where high levels of alcohol abuse, high HIV prevalence & poor access to health services are reported.

Being an academic is working the regular 9am-5pm then coming home and carrying on with the second shift 8pm -11pm because manuscripts, grants applications and other unpaid work tasks are not going to do themselves. 24 hours are not nearly enough hours in a day.

Eleven clinical trials that will shape medicine in 2025 - Nature Medicine Nature Medicine asks leading researchers to name their top clinical trial for 2025, from gene therapies for prion disease and sickle-cell disease to digital tools for cancer and mental health.

11 clinical trials that will shape medicine in 2025. Oncology and chronic diseases dominate the list. A bit disappointed no infectious disease studies made the cut. Trials for a TB vaccine and lassa fever vaccine are underway, I'm excited about those.
