As we're staring at budget cuts @brendavancouver.bsky.social there are lots of ways BC could generate wealth:
💵Tax the super rich
💵Tax big polluters
💵Increase royalty rates for fossil fuels + water
💵End fossil fuel subsidies

On Dec 3, the CEU bid farewell to friends and allies as our five-year project with the David Suzuki Institute came to a close.

We reflected on lessons learned, celebrated the coalitions carrying this work forward & released resources we hope will strengthen climate advocacy for years to come.

BC just reported on their progress towards pollution reduction goals. Here's what we had to say: "Expanding transit is the fastest tool we have to reduce pollution, and we have evidence.”

What we have witnessed tday in this new federal-Alberta agreement is a complete abandonment of core federal climate policy and a complete abdication to the MAGA-aligned govt of Alberta and to oil & gas corporations that send huge chunks their profits to the US.

BREAKING: Alberta gets its way in deal with Ottawa A newly signed memorandum of understanding gives Alberta almost its entire list of demands, from the removal of regulations to the fast-tracking of a pipeline.

Eye on the ball folks! It seems the pipeline piece may well be a distraction. While a pipeline remains very unlikely, the practical impact of this deal are all the immediate concessions to oil & gas industry & the federal abandonment of core climate policies.
