Booted up Splinter Cell on the GBA and suddenly I’m in “Tbilisi”… except it looks exactly like a generic 2000s American city. Be honest, we all kinda thought that’s what Georgia looked like back then 🤣

Yes, it can drop to -35 degrees Celsius, though not for long periods. I just don’t like wearing a heavy winter jacket over a sweater and layers underneath.

After all, in a broken TV, everything works except the screen. Why isn’t there a system to exchange or repair them? So many resources just go to waste.
Now I’m getting used to watching shows at 60 fps. It is so weird. Everything feels faster, like I’m in a whole new world.

But to my great relief, the new TV arrived intact! Now I have two boxes — one with the full set, just the screen is broken. And I don't understand: why can't they pick up the old one with the same courier? Why waste resources for nothing?

I started bugging Amazon support again. Then luck struck: an employee said they’d send a new TV without needing the old one back! I couldn’t believe it until the email arrived confirming shipment. I waited anxiously, wondering if it’d be broken again—and then there’d be real trouble.

I checked how much it’d cost to ship a 55” TV from Alberta to Ontario and with horror found it’d be at least $1000, twice the price of the TV. Panic hit harder. No way Amazon refunds $1500. And where am I even supposed to get $1000 for shipping?

I called Amazon three times; each call dropped after promises to help. When I finally got through, the operator said they’d refund delivery if I provided a receipt. I was furious. They’d sent me a defective item, and now I had to organize the whole return myself and pay for it.

The left side of the screen was shattered; the glass looked like it had taken a hit. Well, I thought, that’s it, we’re done for. I opened the Amazon app to check the return info, only to see this: I’d have to ship it back myself, and they’d reimburse a grand total of $3. Panic set in.

As soon as the delivery guy hauled the TV up and snapped a photo, I started unboxing. I’d dreamed of spending all day on setup and apps. I pulled out the remote, cables, and manual, then went for the TV itself—and that’s when cold sweat started pouring over me.

I literally flew out of bed. With one hand I'm getting dressed, with the other I'm typing: "On my way!" I rushed downstairs, opened the door, and wait—did I make it? What a joy it was when, out of the darkness of the cold morning, a man appeared, carrying my TCL 55 Q7 in his hands.
2/10
True to form for a teenager who’s well over 30, I slept poorly the night before delivery. I woke up at 7:32 and immediately grabbed my phone. Imagine my shock when I saw a message from the delivery guy at 7:30 asking where it was safe to leave the TV.

I finally decided to buy myself a birthday gift, albeit a bit late — my first modern TV that plays movies at 60 fps, and for gaming supports 144 Hz. I spent a long time eyeing it, picking out a store. Finally the price became affordable, and I placed the order.
Among its many bizarre wonders, the ballet dancers in Atomic Heart truly stand out. Mechanical yet graceful, their eerie movements are as mesmerizing as they are unsettling. A haunting dance of elegance and horror.

Nu, Pogodi! flickers on dusty TVs; every detail nails the vibe. Shame the gameplay boils down to fetch quests and puzzles. ⤵️
