the point im trying to get at awkwardly is like sometimes i think there's a benefit to treating a tabletop game more like a board game someitmes. no bringing your monopoly dollars to a game of trouble. those are two different things

I really don't think that tonight shows that Trans Rights Are Winning, I think this is much closer to the actual dynamic in place. I think that's still GOOD, but a return to baseline social transphobia instead of delirious genocidal hate is, y'know, only good by comparison.

my radar for 'would this person be decent towards trans people' is a lot more sensitive than most peoples i think but 'okay well am i not allowed to LIKE FICTION anymore' is certainly one of the yellow flags

a discerning critic should know that no one is allowed to talk about how anything is good because everything is shit

sometimes someone has kind of shit politics but you do have to grin and bear it a little bit because people with even worse politics were heinous towards her for years

something about the way people talk in posts like that last one that really gets to me. the language of permission & the express disinterest in any kinda discussion on the matter. the sense of entitlement when it comes to consuming a product
