Assessment of Policing Performance during 2024 report front cover, Purple.

Today, the PCSA published the findings of a report into An Garda Síochána’s policing performance throughout 2024.

Our review found that four out of 18 targets were fully achieved, while nine were partially met.

The PCSA is delighted to partner with Research Ireland and to fund the Living Independently & Free from Targeted Abuse (LIFT) project led by Dr Charles O’Mahony at the University of Galway. The project will explore the experiences of disabled people who have been targeted for abuse or exploitation.

Today, the Policing and Community Safety Authority launched its public consultation on the Policing Priorities for An Garda Síochána for 2026-2028.

The new Policing and Community Safety Authority (PCSA) was established today.
Combining the functions of the Policing Authority and An Garda Síochána Inspectorate, the PCSA will also take on an additional Community Safety role in ensuring that people in Ireland are not only safe, but feel safe.
