It was an honour to meet @srenvironment.bsky.social at the Pathways to Breathe Clean Air event this week, and hear insights from a range of experts in the field. The wide-ranging impacts of #AirPollution are no secret - we echo Astrid's call for governments to accelerate #CleanAir action.

This call is ahead of the 31st session of the International Seabed Authority (#ISA).

🌊States have obligations to protect the marine environment and the climate system that are owed to the international community as a whole.

@un-spexperts.bsky.social urge States to ensure that any new regulations for deep-sea mining are grounded in international law, including international human rights law, and implement the precautionary principle.

The report aims to identify and analyze existing planning tools, processes, frameworks and measures to protect human rights, including those coming from Indigenous Peoples, coastal and fishing communities, and peasants, as well as if and how present and future generations rights are considered.
