17.01.2025 15:11 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Just signed up! (Proud WFWA member here.)
17.01.2025 00:29 β π 5 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Like attracts like.
17.01.2025 00:26 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I have to write an article about trends using Mocha Mousse. Care to be quoted about your graham cracker? π
05.12.2024 22:33 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Iβm reading βTonyβs Wifeβ by Adriana Trigiani. Love it!
05.12.2024 02:39 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0Whatβs everyone reading right now? (Besides this post.)
05.12.2024 02:10 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Another fair point. You are being polite. Can we continue? What type of genre do you like to read?
05.12.2024 01:27 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I thought you meant the stage play. Fair point!
05.12.2024 01:25 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Anyhoo, I came to this platform in peace. Happy book consumption, however you wish.
05.12.2024 01:20 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0As any TBR stack should be. π
05.12.2024 01:16 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0When I say I want a home library I mean I want thousands of books in my house and also everyone shutup
04.12.2024 13:24 β π 3722 π 278 π¬ 157 π 29Again, thatβs a different source. Film adaptation does not equal text. I would never say I read a book because I watched its movie adaptation.
05.12.2024 01:11 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Lessen the *approach*, I meant. (thought you could edit on here?)
05.12.2024 01:09 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Film version = printed play doesnβt add up for me, but I agree that when itβs the same exact text (not abridged) it shouldnβt lessen the experience.
05.12.2024 01:08 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Definitely a different experience. But to argue that you canβt know the plot, characters, themes, etc. of a book because itβs audio doesnβt fly with me. I have read Anna Karenina with my eyes and listened to the whole 30+ hours of it (on normal speed, no less). I count that as twice read.
05.12.2024 00:38 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Just as language evolves, I think the notion of consuming books needs to evolve. If you can discuss a book in its entirety, youβve read it. βRead itβ means to consume it, IMHO.
05.12.2024 00:28 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Yes. Even better, because itβs a play. They are meant to be experienced audibly.
05.12.2024 00:26 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I hate that we still have to have this argument. To listen to a book is to consume it just as you would by using your eyes. Same results, different method. I sometimes find I retain plot points and character details even better listening.
05.12.2024 00:25 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Agreed. While weβre at it, can the pantsers stop ragging on the plotters? You do you.
05.12.2024 00:12 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0No, but that looks like dark web hacking was involved and you should explain yourself. π
05.12.2024 00:04 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Welcome!
04.12.2024 22:51 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Girl. What are you working on?
04.12.2024 22:50 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Iβve tried standing outside yelling. Thatβs why Iβm here.
04.12.2024 17:15 β π 2 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0And letβs welcome them when they do.
24.11.2024 04:37 β π 8 π 2 π¬ 1 π 0A good fountain soda is always nice. But yes, I prefer Diet Pepsi.
23.11.2024 02:58 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Sending hot cocoa vibes with extra marshmallows (or not).
22.11.2024 00:39 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0But also, this looks terrifying in a good way and I do hope it gets funded.
22.11.2024 00:36 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I do.
22.11.2024 00:35 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0No. Please. No more scary clowns. There are enough in our government.
22.11.2024 00:30 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0Havenβt read this but βFinal Girlsβ terrified me. (In a good way!)
