Damn Silly

Obviously if a game is set somewhere 'real', the accents should probably reflect that, but it is charming for this fantasy world to be filled with lots of different voices, even in the diaries.

I'm sure this isn't a new insight but one thing I'd like to shout out about E33 already is the range of accents you hear.

Just gives the world - and everyone in it - that wee bit more character.

53) Assassin's Creed Shadows (2025)

A fascinating and frustrating time. Great world and gameplay, and affable characters. But the story and mission structure is just so...nothing.

Enjoyed my time, but definitely missed potential. Also, let the credits run and had a stopwatch to see the length.

52) Celebrity Traitors (2025)

What could have potentially been a damp squib instead became arguably one of the best iterations of the show.

Truly a tremendous job from everyone involved, from the cast to the producers that picked them, Claudia of course, and everyone in between.

51) Young Frankenstein (1974)

A real highlight of this more deliberate film watching has been becoming more acquainted with Mel Brooks' filmography. I'd already seen Blazing Saddles, but adding The Producers, Spaceballs and now this has been a delight.

50) Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery (1997)

Stuck this on last night on a whim and...it's mostly just fine. Definitely doesn't help having watched a couple of Mel Brooks films this year which are just that much funnier by a level or two at least.

The BBC are accidentally running the subtitles to Mrs Marple over the Mercury Prize, and it’s rather wonderful. A few of lines could plausibly have been written by Jarvis.

Okay, I know I'm only making this connection because "game in Japan" but Ubisoft could do with learning from the likes of RGG when it comes to giving some sauce to their major players.

49) Godzilla Minus One (2023)

My first Godzilla film, and goddamn, what a one to have as number one. Will be tough to beat.

Godzilla truly comes across as a proper *monster*. And an absolute prick at that too!
