South Dakota Review 100% real handmade literature

I'm not here. I'm fasting from social media for Lent. But I wanted to say I'll be in a few places this week—a panel on Friday at AWP about refusing 'ai' in the writing classroom, and the @milkweededitions.bsky.social reading on Saturday at Fadensonnen—and also:

I spoke to someone running an aid kitchen in Beirut. He told me way less donations are coming in this time. Also Western Union and Whish money transferring services have blocked them from receiving money transfers.

ICE drawdown? Indications point to steady enforcement activity outside the Twin Cities Some people who observe ICE activity are skeptical about a large scale drawdown of agents in the state. There are indications that activity has decreased in the Twin Cities, but has continued outside ...

Two female ICE agents popped the hood of their car and knocked on the door of a mechanic born in Mexico. He went out to help.

“A bunch of agents jump out and tackle him, essentially restraining him, and take him away...His six kids are now without their father." www.mprnews.org/story/2026/0...

BREAKING: The Department of Education has ended its directive that attempted to restrict diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts in schools nationwide.

This is a victory for academic freedom and education equity.

The idea that to be a good citizen required curiosity about the world was a positive force. Now we just have ignoramuses crowing about "Western civilization" while knowing nothing and wanting to know even less.

If you wanna know how Pam Bondi’s religious protection & Tom Homan’s drawdown is going, ask if your local Latino church cancelled Ash Wednesday services or if there they need folks standing guard

My guess is that the goal here is not only to punish the children for turning more people against ICE/DHS, but also to make news outlets think twice about reporting on kids' suffering at the hands of ICE/DHS, out of concern that doing so might lead to retaliation against the kids.

Capitalists dont get excited about technology they are excited about the profits that technology brings. The main group of people that are truly excited about the advancement technology can bring human well being and its capacity to remove or reduce certain difficult tasks are socialists

A remarkable story (from a forthcoming book). What was a matter of "the book" in the 1930s is today a matter of data-hoovering and AI

Prof. Patricia Hill Collins will deliver the annual WGS Eleanor Roosevelt Lecture, "Black Women's Intellectual Activism, Social Justice, and Radical Hope." This was the last event that I organized with Faith Smith before I stepped down as Chair so it feels extra special. I cannot believe it!!😍

“You’ll be left behind without gen ai” is a marketing campaign maybe for middle class yt ppl. There’s no way they’re trying to sell that to someone like me whose lived a life where my knowledge, skill, experience don’t matter and my labor was exploited even before gen ai. There is no “ahead” for me.

This is the kind of thing white supremacists have been doing to Emmett Till’s memorial for decades.

It’s wild to see them do this to a white woman who the entire world saw extrajudicially murdered.
