Meet 86-year-old Bhima Malla, whose life is a testament to her late husband's service in WWII. Nanda Bahadur Malla, a proud Gurkha soldier, endured unimaginable hardships on the battlefield, today, his legacy lives on through the support his wife receives.

GWT Ambassador Hari Buda Magar is reconnecting with his roots in Nepal. As well as visiting his birthplace he visited two of the schools that he studied in growing up. One of which has since been refurbished by GWT.

Thanks to your support, our field teams are able to offer home phlebotomy services for our elderly pensioners. This means vital blood tests can be done in the comfort of their own homes, ensuring they receive the best medical care without the difficult journey to a clinic.

Today, Daisy Rex begins an epic 1,700 km journey along the Great Himalaya Trail – aiming to complete the 150-day route in just 90 days to raise vital funds for The Gurkha Welfare Trust. 🏔️💪

95 year-old Gurkha veteran Bal Bahadur Thapa was admitted to our residential home following a nine-month period of being bedridden due to a hip fracture.

A comprehensive rehabilitation program was initiated and over time, with consistent effort and professional care, Bal made remarkable progress.

Nepal's monsoon season runs from June - September each year. It is vital for crops but also brings devastating landslides and floods. This makes reaching Gurkha veterans and widows in remote villages incredibly difficult for our Pensioner Support Teams.

Our Bagmati team proudly handed over the newly refurbished Shree Pabitra Dristi Numbur Himalayan Adharbhut School! Most students here come from yak-farming families, and this transformation, made possible through the support of our generous donors, means a safer, brighter place to learn.

This Fundraiser Friday we want to say a big thank you to LCpl Sandesh Shrestha from 31 SQN, who recently carried out a 67 mile tabbing exercise carrying 33lb on his back to mark the 67th anniversary of his regiment and raise money for GWT and the QOGLR Trust. 💚

Following our Home Carer Training, one caregiver returned to their community and built parallel bars made from local materials to support gait training for Ash Bahadur Limbu.

A simple yet powerful innovation. enabling safer rehabilitation at home and improving quality of life for those who served.

Despite the challenges presented by the monsoon season our team treks high into the hills Baglung to deliver vital medical aid to our veterans.

During a recent home visit, our team celebrated the 100th birthday of Ramkala Rana, widow of Gurkha veteran, Bhimbahadur Rana. It was a wonderful opportunity to share in the joy and happiness of this incredible lady’s centennial celebration. Her strength and spirit continue to inspire us all.

At our Residential Homes, moments of laughter, games, and shared joy bring more than just smiles. They support mental wellbeing, reduce loneliness, and help our Gurkha veterans and widows feel truly at home.

During a recent visit to Chainpur, Sankhuwasabha, our team introduced some simple rehabilitation exercises to our pensioners to help improve mobility, independence, and overall well-being. Even simple rehabilitation exercises can lead to noticeable improvements in daily life.

Our incredible team in Nepal are already navigating the challenges of monsoon season. For months to come, they'll be facing tough terrain and weather to ensure our vulnerable pensioners receive essential financial and medical support.

108 year old Dhanbahadur Magar is one of thousands of veterans we support in Nepal, providing financial aid and medical care so that they can live with dignity. It is a way of repaying the debt of honour we owe to these brave soldiers who fought so courageously for our country.

A massive congratulations to Jim Morton who's smashed his goal of trekking the 281 miles of the Pennine Way in just 16 days. We would like to extend a massive thank you to Jim for taking on this challenge to raise money to support Gurkha veterans and their communities in Nepal. You are a true hero!

Tears welled up in her eyes as she stood before her new water-sealed toilet & bathroom, a small structure, yet a life-changing gift. For years, she had endured the daily struggle of shame, fear, and discomfort. Today, that chapter closed. This wasn’t just about sanitation; it was about dignity.

Gurkha veteran Mandhoj Rai expressed great joy upon receiving his new adjustable glasses, which have significantly improved his vision and comfort.
