If the repeal of the anti-union law had been on the ballot in 2026 it likely would have increased voter turnout. By repealing it themselves now, GOP lawmakers can avoid that.

Utah has its first union of library workers, capping big week for public-sector labor groups Salt Lake City library employees have voted to form a union, the first in the Beehive State for library workers.

“We, as workers, are looking forward to negotiating our first contract,” associate librarian Christina Ordonez said in a news release. “We’ve always been here for our community, and we finally have the tools to advocate for ourselves and for each other.”

Crazy to me to ignore that the republican party has had a crazy long game strategy since the 70s to dismantle the labor and civil rights movements systematically and the democrats have been coasting on “we’re smart they’re dumb” and acting like it’s “stupid hicks” who landed us here lol
