A creative soul who makes things out of paper, beads, wool, fabric, recycles where possible, gardens & cooks a bit, interested in wildlife, art and archaeology. Husband is the better wildlife photographer :-D No politics, thank you

07.03.2026 16:30 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0π π π It should never have been started in the first place. Total waste of money & countless acres of ancient forest lost. A politician commented that they'll just create ancient forests 'somewhere else' - you can't just recreate 100s of years of biodiversity

I can't believe it's almost the end of #FebruArty, so for today's theme, here's a tea-cosy in a patchwork pattern known as Grandmother's Fan. Laura Ashley fabric offcuts were used, so you can tell how long ago I made it! #FebruArty2026 #Fan #patchwork #grandmothersfan #teacosy #fabricoffcuts

21.02.2026 17:25 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0This paper collage card features a black and white dog wearing a yellow sou'wester, floating in a blue and white china cup. The sky is very dark, and the sea is rough - even the fish is looking worried!
When I saw this teacup in an old magazine, I knew exactly what I wanted to do with it - a card entitled 'Storm In A Teacup' π Rough seas, a gloomy sky plus a #fearless dog wearing a sou'wester completed the picture! #FebruArty2026 #Fearless #recycled #oldmagazines #savedfromlandfill #ilovepuns

On this card, the dog is wearing a grey and black checked coat, with a black hat placed just above the eye
This dog is wearing a brown, orange and teal checked coat, and the grey bobble hat is above the eye
Some years ago, I #found this wrapping paper, and used it to make greetings cards. With the addition of different coats and positioning of the hats, I #found the character of each dog was subtly changed π #FebruArty2026 #found #greetingscards #reuse #recycle

Cross-stitch of three Bluebell type flowers in dark blue, pale blue and orange, with a green stem, set in a blue oval aperture card
Another card for today's #JanuArty2026 theme of #Fuchsia. It's my own cross-stitch design for this flower, which easily became a Bluebell by using different coloured threads. #greetingscard #crossstitch #Fuchsia #Bluebell 2/2
16.02.2026 15:26 β π 12 π 0 π¬ 0 π 1Nine butterfly shapes punched out from old maps. They are arranged in three lines of three, and stuck onto a red card. The place names are (top row) Eggborough, Baconsthorpe, Chipstead, (middle row) Breadstone, Buttercrambe, Honey Tye, (bottom row) Stephens, Cookham, Beer
Two for the price of one today. For yesterday's #JanuArty2026 theme of #Fried, a card entitled "All Day Breakfast" with relevant place names from old maps. This was made for a relative called Stephen who is a chef and drinks beer, as reflected in the bottom line of butterflies π 1/2 #greetingscard

14.02.2026 17:18 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Two felt lavender bags with an applique pansy design and a ribbon hanging loop. They are placed on a china dish, the colours matching the felt used
All the places in the hearts have the word 'love' in them, apart from the central one. I was amazed to find an actual place called Hearts Delight!
Today, I'm combining #FebruArty2026 #feel and #ValentinesDay. The heart-shaped lavender bags feel very soft as they're made with felt, and the place names on the card were specifically chosen for today. #myowndesigns #handmade #homegrownlavender #reusing #oldmaps

Another one.
This is a really important find - unique in fact. It has slight similarities to a torc from Moulsford (in Reading Museum) but apart from that it's a totally new type. π§΅
