I have joined over 100 MPs in writing to the FA to express my serious concerns and urging them to do more to protect players and fans from racism, hatred and abuse.
Football is a great unifier and should be protected as such.

Alongside this racism, we also saw Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s hateful comments stating that the UK has been “colonised by immigrants.”

It was extremely disappointing that Ratcliffes vile rhetoric was not more strongly condemned by the FA - this kind of inflammatory and racist language must be called out.

The appalling racist abuse faced by four Premier League players last weekend was unacceptable.

Burnley’s Hannibal Mejbri, Chelsea’s Wesley Fofana, Wolves’ Tolu Arokodare and Sunderland’s Romaine Mundle all received racist abuse.

Regime change via bombing and military force never works for the local people or international stability.

We must do what we can now to prevent escalation, protect civilian lives and to ensure the significant numbers of Britons in the region are supported and helped home as soon as possible.

Oman, the mediator of the negotiations between the US & Iran, said that a peace deal was within reach, the unprovoked attacks whilst in the middle of negotiations should therefore be condemned as a flagrant violation of international law

The US and Israel's actions in Iran are illegal; they will create increased instability in an already dangerous world

We must urgently change direction and return to policies that show our true Labour values, that deliver for communities and bring hope to many.

Instead of listening, those at the top of our party chose to carry on with their attempts to out reform reform on Immigration, plans to cut welfare and putting their factionalism ahead of the country and party.

The negative campaigning is a problem and I think always backfires. We should be talking about what we can do and our priorities.

Some of us were pointing out the polling more than a year ago that showed we were losing more voters to the Greens than to Reform.

Ultimately it is his Labour's policies and campaigning that lost us this seat, from his policies on pensions, winter fuel, welfare cuts to immigration - nationally we are not getting it right and we are letting the country down.

Blame for Labour’s defeat in Gorton and Denton sits with Keir Starmer and those running our party.

Starmer personally leading the intervention at the NEC officers meeting to block Burnham was not only obviously a huge error but also showed just how weak he is.

Commiserations to Angeliki Stogia, Labour's loss is no reflection on the hard work that she alongside many activists put into the campaign.

Congratulations to Hannah Spencer and the Green Party, I'm pleased you beat Reform and to have another working class MP in Parliament.

Another great British Kebab Awards this week

Kebab shops and restaurants are in every city, town and village across the UK and represent the wonderful diversity in our society & provides thousands of jobs.

I signed the pledge to work with Govt to review councils youth homelessness assessment rates, to deliver more one bedroom social homes and to deliver funding to tackle this issue.

I’ve met centrepoint before in parli & it was good to catch up with them again to work on tackling youth homelessness.

I met with @centrepointuk.bsky.social in Parliament to support their #NoYoungPersonLeftOut campaign.

We must ensure that the hundreds of thousands of young people experiencing or at risk of homelessness across the UK get the support they need.

Good to meet with AMMF in Parliament to hear about recent advances, targeted treatments and immunotherapies, that are transforming the management of cholangiocarcinoma.

It is time we #Rethink#LiverCancer & work to improve outcomes for people diagnosed with this lesser-known cancer.
