In my life I've been lucky enough to have - even retrospectively - owned most of the major consoles. The Xbox 360 turned me into an Xbox-first gamer, and for years it was my focus.

Over the past decade I have increasingly felt like the biggest threat to Xbox was not Sony, but Microsoft itself.

My console of choice for decades. Even a midnight launcher for the Xbox One 😬 and Day 1 on Series X. I believed in Spencer's early vision but worry being a piece of MS is what will kill it, with Nadella's lack of care, and then also MS's involvement in AI and the Middle East leading to backlash.

If possible I recommend buying the tempered glass ones. Better protection and also much easier to apply.

I do regret telling the wrong friends jokingly that I collected versions of Monopoly when they asked me what kind of board games I play. It's how I ended up with three versions.

A vast majority of my collection is crowdfunded, through Kickstarter, Gamefound, etc. Generally I only fund games from established designers/developers, so I've got essentially everything I've ever backed. But yeah, it is *not* a cheap thing to collect. Some of my games cost more than my consoles.

Well this was how it looked in mid-2024. It's grown significantly then but it's less aesthetic at the moment😂 I started properly collecting in 2020 when I bought my first place and had space. Then I went through a bad breakup at the end of 2023 which made me...spend unwisely 👀😅

I have *so many* board games I want to play and all my friends started moving around the country. I only get to meet up with my main boardgaming friend for a couple weekends each year because it's a 4 hour journey to get each way and we're busy adults.

Group chats and multimedia chats. Until they have that, people are having to use a second service to do those things, and so it undermines the full utility of Bluesky.

My view on the Pokémon thing, glad you (nobody) asked! I own every mainline Pokémon GB/GBA game. I don't know where they all are, but here's the ones I do.

+ My Switch 2 where I just bought FireRed.
+ My Steam Deck where I emulate.

All of these are valid choices, let people make theirs.

Absolutely, there's a lot of people for whom the price tag is 'fine' (I'm one of them) and who want a legitimate option that's just readily accessible. £17/$20 for easy trading and battling with my partner? Sure.
