I do a lot of editing of others' writing at my job. It just occurred to me that I'm likely editing a lot of AI-generated content and now I'm mad.

Whenever I correctly point out that there is no opposition party in US politics, the usual suspects swarm to screech about Dems having no power. If these folks are correct (they are not), then they should BUILD POWER. They aren't doing that.

For years now, moderates have decried the division of identity politics of Democrats, ignoring of course that the Republican Party was defined by identity politics itself — the identity of whiteness. Now that it’s explicit the inability to call it out and to cover it aptly is starkly disappointing.

My Christmas wish for AI and robots in 2026:

1-the one extended period where this ratio <2 (still >1 tho) *and* rates were low in absolute terms was post-peak pandemic in the Biden era (2022-4).
2-a target rate of 5-6% unemployment (policy for much of the last few decades) is a perpetual recession for Black workers.
