K-Pop Biases Labeler

For those using @bias.is for their #K-Pop bias labels, Sunday's new groups are now available. There was a minor hiccup in 100per's data which caused the weekly sync to fail.

You know, just in case you were itching to add XONIK or BE BOYS as your ult.

Also, the /ult command had a small language update since you can /ult both individuals and groups.

Finding others that share your bias is tough; camping hashtags works, but only if your future moots are talking about your groups as often as you do.

/suggest looks at everyone else on the labeler and tries to suggest someone who shares at least one bias in common.

[update] Clearer commands!

The most common error is typing /add and including the fandom name.

For example /add Aespa (MY)

Doing this command with the fandom included would fail and not really explain why. We got better at catching when you do this, and can usually get your bias right now. 🫶🏻

[update] Hello fifth bias slot!

The most common request is “more labels” so it’s increased by one! It’s a balance; too many labels and it becomes hard to read. Too few, and we can express ourselves fully. So go on, add the fifth bias or ult your fav member. 💖

[changelog] Fixed an issue where adding a bias with < and > or searching for an idol not in the DB returned a generic error. I redid the error messages so both you (and I) get a lot more data on why something fails.

I also adjusted the command text to say "/add ENHYPEN" which is less error prone

The creator will also jump back on this labeler every so often and go find more kpop posts to like, so if you see a like from the labeler, that’s why!

This labeler tells others about your favorite groups, and soloists. If you'd like to add your own bias or ults:

1. Subscribe to the labeler
2. Follow the labeler ("..." next to subscribe)
3. Like the labeler ♥️

The bias bot will then DM you with the commands~

[FAQ] Why do I need to "follow" the labeler?

Not everyone keeps their DMs open on Bluesky. Following the labeler ensures that the DM can reach you. Otherwise you won't be able to interact with the bot and set your bias and ult.

[FAQ] Why do I have to "Like" the labeler?

It's two things. Liking the labeler helps more people see it in external tools, but we also use the "like" action as the trigger to open up a DM to you from the labeler for setting your bias and ult.

The decision to use DMs also means that we'll be able to add other functionality beyond just being a labeler. Some ideas include /suggest to find another moot, /comeback for the details on the latest comeback, or just having quick access to your fav's recent M/Vs.

This is also why you need to follow the labeler. If you have your DMs restricted (and most people do), following the bot allows us to send you a DM when you like the labeler.

Without that, you'd need to message the labeler yourself to start the setup process.

There's a lot of artists in the k-pop industry, and there's zero chance we'd keep up with all the labelers a project like this needs. So we chose to use the bot's DM ability to give you a private way to manage your biases and ults.
