In screenwriting notes, as in life, the most confident voices are often the most blatantly wrong. Which is why, when I give feedback, I incorporate the classic insult sandwich:

A. I am an idiot.
B. Here's what I think MIGHT need improvement.
A. But what do I know - I'm an idiot.

Insult him. I haven't personally tried it, but I've seen a lot of internet people taking that approach and why would they do that if it wasn't effective?

If you have the funds, consider hiring Tony Gilroy to assist you. It's my understanding that the man is competent.
