First use of the new walk-in shower it has taken me six months to install (there are reasons) - bliss!

my parents always claimed they had seen the filming of the big parachuting into the sea scene in Thunderball when they lived in Miami. this was a little bit like that, only without sharks

the logistical hitch for the marines was that their boats got towed out by tractors and there were only two tractors and six boats and two jet skis. last boat only just out and jet skis still waiting

they are landing on the beach at Fraisethope!

might have been kit as there are ribs or jet skis out gathering them. exercise?

so this is at anchor in the bay this evening. kind of concerning

dolphins in the bay. it’s been a while since they deigned to grace us here

in York, coincidentally on Yorkshire Day (though every day is Yorkshire Day, tbh)

our local herring gull chicks have had their first flights today.

didn’t have ‘replace all the mains-powered smoke alarms in the house because they are 10 years past their replace-by date’. But these are the things you discover at 3am when the spiders living in the alarms set them off…

went to Bempton Cliffs and saw lots of puffins (as well as the nesting gannets, guillemots and razorbills, kittiwakes).
