Being a person with deadly, incurable cancer who is nonetheless still alive for an indefinite timeframe gives me an interesting metaphor that helps me deal with things like large-scale corruption in government or commerce.

NSF just wrote all PIs saying “all payments of funds under open awards will be paused as the agency conducts the required reviews and analysis.” ?!?!!!?!

To all of the federal employees who have done amazing work to support underserved and marginalized populations, I see you. I appreciate you. And I value your efforts even if the current administration doesn’t.
