I can rule out sawfly. Looks lepidopteran.

A green caterpillar with white longitudinal stripes and a yellowish head with dark markings. Amongst brown conifer needles on a piece of white fabric.

It is cheering to see two new hopes for democracy in the UK.
The new leader of the Green Party, @zackpolanski.bsky.social has set an agenda to improve democracy rather than dismantle it and Mainstream, a new alliance between centrists and the left in Labour.

Turns out the females were males and a Bracon species. Not yet to species level.

Potential ID from @gavinbroad.bsky.social as Proterops basalis which is a parasitoid of Arge species.

I revisited the Euura miliaris sawfly larva earlier today to find an ichneumon wasp working its way around them despite their efforts to defend themselves. Amazing how it holds its wings up to avoid being clobbered!

This presumed braconidae fooled me into thinking it was a sawfly for a moment. Two females feeding on pollen/nectar of Canadian Fleabane. Eyes not as good as they used to be. 🙄

Eversible coremata (scent-extruding organs)?

Sometimes big rewards come from minimal effort, something I have embraced this year.

Top one is an Athalia and the bottom a Tenthredopsis. Can't get to species tho.

Hi Miles. None of the gall forming species were submitted as far as I'm aware. They aren't collecting at the moment as far as I'm aware. A lot of species in the pipeline to process.

The bicolorous stigma look wrong for Hemichroa. I'd suggest one of the Nematinus, possibly steini?

In that area certainly but I don't think we can be definite on species. Could try adding to iNaturalist to see if Liston or Taeger can say for sure. Or try European FB page for Marko Prous.

If you stick it on iNaturalist someone may get it to species but if it's in the UK I'd say Cephalcia lariciphila

This parasitic wasp emerged yesterday from an overwintered Dolerus larva. IDed as probable Tryphon sp. by Max Parkhomenko on iNat.
