Oh hey, I'm gonna be here more often due to my (potentially mildly manic) decision to delete all M3ta accounts! Looking forward to spending more time here instead of on stuff the evil zucchini owns.

Ok to be fair, there are *some* excellent pampered chef products! But a lot of it is just plastic stuff that can break. My favorite is the durable metal garlic press. Changed my life! I hate mincing garlic.

They all did such a good job playing their parts, especially the crazy guy who bit the head off a pigeon. Wild stuff, man! And this had some of the most realistic blood I've seen this year! πŸ‘ I will say though, over 2 hrs is a long movie, and I wanted to fall asleep during the slow parts. πŸ₯±

Day 31: Nosferatu (2024)
Hope you all had a Happy Halloween!
Having recently seen the Drunk Shakespeare Society perform Drunk Dracula a few weeks ago, the story was fresh on my mind, so there were no real surprises there. What I found most entertaining in this movie was the acting and the blood!

I wasn't sure what to expect, due to it not being a comedy horror, but I thought it was a unique sort of revenge story that plays with Greek mythology. Weird but entertaining!

Day 30: A Wounded Fawn (2022)
Oooh, this was a wild one! Playing an art thief and schizophrenic (?) serial killer this time, Josh Ruben once again graces my screen in some rather gruesome psychosis-induced body horror scenes!

(Seriously, what child says, β€œI wanna play some vids”?) That's the best way I can describe this silly movie. It was so bad that I was laughing, and ended up kind of enjoying it? Not for the plot, of course, which was atrocious, but for just how wacky it was!

Day 29: Psycho Goreman (2020)
Ok, imagine if Encino Man was actually an evil alien instead of a chill caveman, and under the control of a young girl, then take out all the famous actors and make it a B-horror by adding a bunch of exploding bodies and an absolutely ridiculous script!

30.10.2025 04:46 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

I found this delightfully funny, and the ample jumpscares (a few of which really got my heart rate going!) often came with immediate comic relief. The level of gore wasn't gratuitous, but felt appropriate to the story. β€œA whodunnit with teeth” is exactly right!

Day 28: Werewolves Within (2021)
Another film directed by Josh Ruben, Werewolves Within is actually based on a video game of the same name, which is in turn based on the social party game Werewolf (aka Mafia).

He walks in a steady, slow pace throughout the film, and my spouse said the cinematography reminded him of a video game.
I don't remember who suggested this one. If it was you, tell me why you liked it, cause it was not entertaining to me in the least!

Day 27: In A Violent Nature (2024)
This movie is so gory! And most of it takes place without any music, which gets old real fast. I couldn't figure out what the killer's motivation was cause the small amount of backstory didn't really explain it.

28.10.2025 06:24 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

I loved how they mixed in real effects, shadows, lighting, and sounds while they were telling stories, because it is reminiscent of the way you get absorbed into a good story and can visualize it playing out for real. Very clever and lots of fun!

Day 26: Scare Me (2020)
I strongly feel that Josh Ruben said to himself, β€œI'm a Noise Boy. I'm gonna make a movie that relies heavily on the noises I can make with my mouth.” Boy howdy did he do it well! The intimate cabin setting made it feel like I was in the room with them.

Most of the violence happens audibly while the lights are out.

Day 25: Devil (2010)
Five people are trapped in an elevator and one of them is the Devil. But which one?
I kinda liked this movie, but not enough to rave about it. I did not correctly guess which character was the devil, and the ending was surprising to me. It was a pretty good PG-13 thriller.

26.10.2025 20:00 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

I actually started it on the train home from an event and very quickly had to turn it off. I kinda didn't even want to finish it. :/ But I needed to know how it ended. I did not care for it.

Day 24: Cam (2018)
So… the first half hour of the movie was mostly 🌽. If you are sensitive to that type of imagery, avoid this one. There are also 2 graphic su*cide scenes.
I typically don't read about the movies before watching them, but this is one that not knowing about it was detrimental to me.

really connected the prior 5 films in an elegant and fascinating way. They have stepped up their CGI and makeup effects since FD5, which was released in 2011. I really liked it, and definitely recommend it to other fans of Final Destination!

Day 23: Final Destination: Bloodlines (2025)
OOOOOH! I have been so excited to watch this one! I think Final Destination is my favorite horror movie franchise, cause it's just gory fun! This one was entertaining the entire time, had some bloody creative deaths, and...

24.10.2025 03:38 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

The distorted bird sounds were bizarre at first, but then it made sense why they didn't sound normal. And again with the old movie abrupt ending! Lol. Overall it was good though!

Day 22: The Birds (1963)
This was not at all what I remembered it to be! I'm sure it was actually really scary in 1963, with the green screens, fake blood, and fear in the actors’ eyes. I noticed that there was little to no background music, which I think deepened the intensity of the scenes.

23.10.2025 05:10 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

There were jumpscares in this movie for sure! I only got freaked a couple times though because I looked away when the music told me to. πŸ˜… It felt similar to The Exorcist. (P.S. The dog died.)

Day 21: The Conjuring (2013)
I knew this was connected to The Amityville Horror, which we watched last year, but I didn't realize that this one is based on the case files of real paranormal investigators, where TAH was loosely based on true events. So like, same same, but different, ya know?

Day 20: The Voices (2014)
This is one I have seen before, and boy is it fun! A schizophrenic guy hears the voices of his pets, telling him to do things like stop taking his meds and killing someone? The songs are silly, there is plenty of slashing, Ryan is pretty, and the cat is the best character!

Everyone in Salem, Massachusetts has bullied Hubie all his life, and he offers nothing back but kindness and consideration. It's a β€œlife lesson” movie with a lot of well-known actors. (Wait β€˜til you find out who the radio voice is! I guarantee you'd never guess.) A light-hearted Halloween comedy.

Day 19: Hubie Halloween (2020)
I'll preface this with the fact that I don't much care for Adam Sandler movies. This is definitely his humor, as he is credited as a writer. I wouldn't say that I β€œliked” this movie, but I didn't hate it? It was very silly, teenage boy humor (PG-13).

20.10.2025 02:57 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

It was great! A little less suspenseful than the first, which I liked. The cinematography was peak! So cool the way they did the dream sequences and the Grabber interactions! If you liked the first, you will likely enjoy this one as well!

Day 18: Black Phone 2 (2025)
Who goes to a horror movie and leaves sobbing? Me. I lost my dad and would give anything to talk to him again. 😭 Here I was thinking this'd be a fun sequel to The Black Phone and not something that punches me in the heart!
I liked the first one, and was hopeful for this!

18.10.2025 23:29 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

There are zombies for some reason? And a lot of very silly slasher things. A decent, mindless comedy/horror flick.
PS: I love it when movies take place in cities in Utah, even just for a scene!
