phase 1 of lands of amazement. Cards on the left show the rounds and final structure layout. 3 stacks of cards show the target shape options and bonuses. 3 cards overlapping are in the center in play. they show small areas of icons in a grid - that when overlapped - they try to match the target design of one of the goal cards.

At Gen Con, I was lucky to snag a prototype of Lands of Amazement from @buttonshy.bsky.social. I enjoy this kind of spatial puzzle and I really like the layers this @scottalmes.bsky.social design adds in terms of how you carry over cards, gain bonuses, and target the final park. #SoloGaming

New cover art for Martian Dice, re-released by Calliope Games. It's a very small box game. Just a box of 13 dice and a rulebook.

The new dice art for Martian Dice. The images are not just colored, but etched into the dice. Human (blue), chicken (yellow), cow (white), tanks (red) death rays (green). Since you're playing as Martians, death rays & earthlings are what you want. On the 6-sided dice there's 2 death rays (opposite sides of the dice) and 1 of everything else. 13 dice.

Conservas is another banger from @scottalmes.bsky.social. Love the sustainable fishing theme for this solo game. It's a slimmed-down bag builder, never outstays its welcome, and was more challenging than I expected!

Finished my first full game of Lands of Amazement, the newest game in the Simply Solo line from Button Shy and Scott Almes. It's a polyomino laying game with a hint of deck building and makes my brain hurt in a great way! Managed to finish with a score of 2 (0 is best), not bad!

Hm, any good recommendations to pick up during the Steam Summer Sale? Some of my favorite recent games have been Dredge, Outer Wilds, Curse of the Golden Idol, Art of Rally, Wilmot’s Warehouse, Lonely Mountain Downhill. Love good indie games, especially with a bit of action or puzzle to it.
