Thank you so much to @repilhan.bsky.social for honoring my dadβs life by reading his obituary into the Congressional Record.
He would have loved this.

Zoomed out crowd shot of 34,000 people in downtown Denver with Colorado mountains in the background
Tonight an unbelievable **34,000 people** gathered for our Denver rally to take on billionaires and win our country back.
This was the largest political gathering in Denver since Obama in 2008.
Also bigger than the 2024 DNC.
And the largest ever rally in Bernieβs career (and obviously, mine too).
I get that this was rushed out, but I did break this story and it would be nice to get cited, especially since I cite @wired.com. Wired is even cited in the headline from a PULL QUOTE from one of my sources.

At an event by @ilsr.bsky.social, Minnesota AG Keith Ellison says the state is committed to carry on with antitrust suits in which it joined the federal govt- e.g. Amazon - in case the latter retreats enforcement. "We got into this for the long-run," he said. Other state AGs likely do the same.

This case is a huge deal. The "future of work" often involves nothing more than the simultaneous violation of worker, consumer, & competition laws. The CFPB
reminds us that lots of these new fintech-type products for gig workers violate consumer laws.

Democrats can offer a plan B:
Put up the same bill but eliminate the debt limit forever, just like Trump said. And you'll have all our votes, and we can go home.
Corporate lawyers and Trump judges have built a system where Amazon gets to go to court to try and dismantle a 90 year old worker protection agency but gets to use fine print forced arbitration to try and throw workers it forced to pee in bottles out of court.

This important ruling out of state court in Louisiana confirms cities have broad power to stop Dollar General. Municipalities can use their authority to protect "public health, safety and general welfare" to deny dollar stores.
