6/ ... today I am relieved for Gazans and Israelis. But the strip has to be rebuilt under Palestinian sovereignty - that's what international law says and the UK/EU should find diplomatic means towards that end

5/ ... the UK has little agency at the strategic level of this conflict but we can and must find ways to legally bring our stabilisation knowhow and aid to Gaza and to nurture Palestinian statehood...
