caring about the actual timeline of a network procedural could never be me. like it's written into the history of the genre that time exists however they want it to

i enjoyed everything about #911onABC last night but i cannot overstate just how fucking gorgeous oliver stark looked in the dating montage. took my breath away tbh!!

maybe one day people act normal about Connor and Hudson. i'm not talking about being fans and stuff. i'm talking about the very weird parasocial babying people. like you're aware they adults right?? like full adults with their own autonomy. treating them any other way is just strange

btw they don't want you to know this but Lili Reinhart delivered one of the best renditions of Seventeen from Heathers in the Riverdale musical episode

Shane and Ilya longingly staring at each other at the club was the gayest shit they've done on this show so far

13.12.2025 13:32 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

and i'm loving the show. i think Jacob Tierny and everyone are doing a really great job of digging into the source material and elevating it even further. there's a lot more nuance happening here and it's been so great to watch

don't get me wrong, Game Changer manages to come together pretty well at the end and i enjoy Scott and Kip, but Heated Rivalry is just miles better with Shane and Ilya feeling like real characters instead of like...idk. Scott and Kip felt like they only existed for sex in the first half of the book.

and then you have HR, which is arguably more explicit but it's done with more care and intention for the characters. and it highlights all my favorite stuff about MM romance. very interesting stuff lol

Game Changer and Heated Rivalry are really fascinating to compare. i found GC to hold all my main issues with MM romance: it's too focused on repetitive spicy scenes and it really hurt the narrative. Scott and Kip were very underdeveloped until the back half of the book.

that final scene of ep 2 in the hotel room i think represents the story really well: sexy, reflective, and emotional.

the first two episodes of Heated Rivalry are actually quite good. i really enjoyed the book but i find the show to be more careful, thoughtful, and nuanced with Shane and Ilya. MM romance books tend to value sex over characterization, but the show finds a really good balance.

there's for sure some bumps with #911onABC this season but i think a lot of the complaints come down to the fact that it's not the Buddie show rn. the space arc (though a bit long) was great, the Eddie ep was great, last night was great. it's still finding its footing and ABC's schedule doesn't help

#911onABC is always a good time but it's REALLY good when it sits back and lets Angela Bassett do her thing. phenomenal work by her last night. and the whole space arc was a lot of fun and last ep really made it all worth it too. no pun intended but they stuck the landing lol

Sigrid's new album is fantastic. she's so underrated and feels like a hidden gem within the pop world. so many big choruses here and sleek, energetic production. i love her voice. Hush Baby, Hurry Slowly is an incredible pop song and Have You Heard This Song Before hits a massive high. so good.

Shelby Oaks doesn't do too much narratively, but i found it very well made. the found footage parts especially were scary, tense, and effective. it loses some steam, but i personally enjoyed the ending. great visuals and atmosphere. good for the season. i had a good time lol

Good Fortune was cute. it had some nice laughs and great characters. the entire cast was charismatic and compelling. it had some bumpy moments but overall i had a nice time with it. a great way to spend an afternoon.

Black Phone 2 is incredible. what a genuine HORROR movie. it's bolder, gorier, daring, & a lot scarier. Ethan Hawke is horrifying, and Mason Thames & Madeleine McGraw are so compelling. setting and cinematography were great. a bit too long but i didn't care. emotional ending too

Kiss of the Spider Woman exceeded expectations. it's hopeful, romantic, and tragic. the seamless balance of worlds throughout heightened all the emotions and stakes. it's unapologetically queer. Tonatiuh delivers a star-making performance. i loved Diego Luna. and engrave the oscar for JLo NOW

i am genuinely amazed that One Battle After Another is as good as everyone says. few things actually live up to that kind of hype. but it's truly a masterpiece. the entire cast, the score, the cinematography. really all of it is on another level. all i can think is holy shit 😭😭

i had a lot of fun with Night of the Reaper. it has a great atmosphere, love for the genre, and a kick ass final girl. the score stood out too. it actively defies your expectations with twists that work to varying degrees. but i really enjoyed it. and the opening was VERY good.

Strange Harvest is genuinely very creepy. Mr. Shiny is a great horror villain. and the true crime doc format is done so well. if i would have stumbled on this with no prior knowledge, i would have believed it to be real for most of the time.

Twinless is fantastic. a little dark, emotionally vulnerable, and very, very funny. James Sweeney does wonders with his own script in front of and behind the camera. and Dylan O'Brien absolutely nails it. seriously. awards level stuff. so great to see him shine like this.
