Im scared to drive to work, and especially I'm scared to go anywhere downtown. Im perfectly fine, but my anxiety baseline is too high. Xon't feel obligated to reach out to me, I'll be okay. I just need to stay off news sites and social media and work comms today. Im just so exhausted.
I'm scared for my boyfriend that I live with and myself. Im scared he'll get pulled over in an Uber because he often needs to use those, and they are now being targeted by ICE as the ride share workers are often POC. ICE is often seen near his job, and on the route to his job as well.
ICE is still here. They are going door to door. Children are being tear gassed, and used as bait to lure out unnaturalized parents. There is wool over your eyes if you believe Trump was targeting just the illegal immigrants though. And don't forget your tax payer dollars funded these murders.
I worry that the protests will get weaker over time, because it is exhausting to be in this state of mind. I wish every person who goes out in this -10° F weather, would be seen as fighting for better conditions for all. The media is trying to pretend that ICE is out of MN, but that is not true.
I'm sure there are families of cops who are upset, ICE agents who genuinely don't want to cause harm. But right now, why are we talking about them? There are 2 dead from the protests, and many more dead just this year in these internment camps, who were quietly swept aside by the media.
If I had to work alongside him/above him I wouldnt know if I could be fair or impartial because he has now "rage baited" me twice. My anxiety is high and I just want to vent right now. I took the day off because I feel so overwhelmed. The lack of empathy makes me sick. Not just from him.
He's slimy and disingenuous. Many other coworkers will actively reject and ignore his messages that arent work related because this has become a habit. I have heard a rumor that he was reported to HR (again), my opinion is that he should be reported again and fired. I personally do not like him.
I feel like such a weak loser for letting the news get to me. It's not like I'm being pushed down to the ground. I've never had to deal with ICE. The tensions at work were high yesterday. I almost said something to a coworker who consistently rage baits others into these arguments that go nowhere.
