The flipside/downside of this industrial policy is forced wealth transfers from Chinese households which are forced to indirectly subsidize thru suppressed wages/poor social welfare creating a condition where typical Chinese household cannot afford to buy/consume the goods they themselves produces.

When solar manufacturing capacity exceed total global demands it causes prices/profitability of goods to collapse which forces global solar companies to either absorb loss or go out of business. This is #China weaponizing industrial capacity to dominate/create global structural supply dependencies.

Frankly there are only two ways #PRC #China can reconcile this economic/demographic compounding problem: the Japan/lost decade way (decades of economic stagnation) or the Nazi Germany way (lash out militarily at neighbors -- Taiwan/Philippines). I think China will probably adopt a little of both.
