I think I'm going to give $ to grownyc, which runs the farmer's markets I go to. They take ebt & convert it to tokens so the individual farmer's don't have to add the tech to their own systems.

My afternoon...

I don't really care which one - though i do really love it being light late in the summer - i just wish they'd choose one and stop switching back and forth.

I always go by my phone. I only have a couple of other time keeping pieces in the house & they can barely keep time, let alone change automatically. The one that theoretically can (if i sync it to my ipad), is the one that loses 10 minutes over the course of a year anyway. So i don't bother.

They showed it my workplace with a local dance team doing the choreography... but i took a wellness day today because i was just wiped out.

Trick my vet in Seattle showed me - works best with a hard carrier - stand it up on end with the door open. Scruff the cat so they're limp and drop them in butt first. If you need to, have the carrier in another room so they see it & don't figure out what's coming.

This is excellent, John... and the BBC's response is mealy mouthed at best. I wish the archivists were in a position to walk out, since they'll no longer be doing the work they were hired to do, and the changes go against the profession's ethical codes.

This whole thing is fundamentally wrongheaded... as the institution I work for is seeking ways to make our deep archival collections MORE available, & available to people at farflung distances, arguably one of the greatest archives is restricting access? It makes NO sense.

I have a friend who gets physically ill when he eats beyond burgers & he's not sure if it's because there's something in them that is making him sick (an allergy?) or if it's actually a psychological reaction to eating something that reminds him of eating flesh. He has stopped eating them.

Also this hilights the the decimation of the USPS that pushes the delivery services to private companies that don't answer to the public. Will UPS reimburse the people whose packages they are destroying for the $ they lose? I'm sure their days answer is no.

Amazing sunset again tonight

I have a scar just at the corner of my right eye where my glasses cut me when they broke after I flew half the length of our front hall & broke a glass pane in our front door when I 8 - I was "jogging" in the house & tripped on the carpet. They originally thought the window cut me.
