I Northumberland ticked a bird on the Blyth 30 years ago, it would have been the same bird, a TRC special

Meant to mention that there’s been a male Stonechat at Gossy Subsidence Pond, been there at least a few days and still there today - favours the north side at the west end - may linger until next year and have some listing value for you?

Lunchtime at Weldon Bridge today. A couple of Blackbird alarm calls grabbed my attention but it took a while before my suspicions bore fruit when, amidst the heavily ivy clad upper stems of a tree, I picked up a roosting Tawny Owl #NEbirding

I usually compress mine to 300KB for surshal media, although lately, I’ve tried ca800KB but they still come out soft on BlueSky compared to same image on Twitter/X or Facebook

A perusal of Holy Island's beaches with Andy Mould
today - rare wheatears were very much in mind but amidst the bracing showers, the best bird was a Black Redstart taking advantage of the south facing cliffs of The Heugh - other value came in the form of 4 Snow Bunting on Snook #NEbirding #UKbirding

When they got there, the cupboard was bare!
Four Sparrowhawk and a Merlin were knocking about on HI today but very few migrants were present - 28 Robins, a couple of Goldcrest and the Hume's Warbler, which was seen by others this morning, were some of the snacks on offer #NEbirding #UKbirding

Quiet on Holy Island today, some combined totals with Andy Mould were 8 Woodcock & 2 Chiff. The LTT flock still totals 11 with sadly, no nominate caudatus interlopers. Offshore, there was a noticeable 240/hr northerly passage of Kittiwake with 3 Little Gull in the mix #NEbirding #UKbirding

It was a wonderful day Paul and, as often the case, by a really nice twist of fate, the Hume’s was exactly 30 years to the day since Eric Meek had had one at Hauxley

Holy Island today: Dusky Warbler, SEO, 9 Woodcock, 1 Chiff, 1 Blackcap, 2 Goldcrests plus good numbers of Blackbirds. A special date for me, it came up trumps with the DuskyπŸ˜€ (no photos sadly☹️) The 25th anniversary of finding a Pallas's, Dusky & Hume's Warbler at Hauxley
