Amy causing a bit of havoc, rather than heading for Scotland's most northerly populated island today, I headed for England's most northerly populated island - despite a couple of tasty thrushes & a rash of 2 Rustic Buntings on Shetland, it was business as usual on Holy Island #NEbirding #UKbirding

Today’s the anniversary of this stunning Pechora Pipit at Quendale last year - hoping for some similar magic on Shetland next week

Holy Island again today - not quite Groundhog Day - a flighty Lapland Bunting was a nice addition to the previous days cast - good to see some of the previous day's birds well again #NEbirding #UKbirding

There was a slight reshuffle of the YBW pack on Holy Island today together with a few new bits n bobs including this Pied Fly on Snook, a small increase in Goldcrest numbers and a 2nd RB Fly was seen by others interacting with y'day's original bird #NEbirding #UKbirding

Another canny day on Holy Island, star bird was a super Red-breasted Flycatcher found by Alan Hall
Still 4-5 Yellow-browed Warblers but again, no real supporting cast, a few Brambling & a Spot Fly were notable #NEbirding #UKbirding

At least 5 Yellow-browed Warblers on Holy Island today - with little supporting cast, 5 Chiffs, 1 Willow Warbler, 2 Goldcrest, 1 Redwing, 4 Song Thrush and a Wheatear #NEbirding #UKbirding

Excitement came in the form of a few Redwing arriving, a Snow Bunting passing over and the first Twite of the winter #NEbirding

There’s good numbers of Barwits, didn’t notice any Blackwits though, they generally favour a freshwater, marshy area known as the Rocket Field but it’s all dried up

Quiet on Holy Island today
Most notable bird was a Spot Fly, also present were a handful of Chiffs, a Willow Warbler, a couple of Goldcrests and a Shortie. For the island connoisseurs, 4 Rook & 3 Greenfinch were much appreciated🙂 #NEbirding

I was too late for the RN Phalarope & the Buff-breast on the North Shore but the waders there were stunning. Merlin and Peregrine kicking about and pb Brents arriving

9 Pied Fly, 2 Spot Fly, 7 Whinchat, 2 Redstart, 1 Tree Pipit, 2 Wheatear, 1 Whitethroat, 10 Willow Warbler, 4 Chiff, 4 Goldcrest, 1 Swift, 2 Whimbrel and a Merlin were amongst the highlights
