We have continuously been shouted down for saying IZ will kill housing in the city, and yet β€” it's already happening, with some saying ~1,000+ units are now on ice because of the ordinance.

Missing from the coverage of Federal Government layoffs: they disproportionately affect #millenials and #genz

Probationary employees have been laid off first and these are most likely to be younger workers in their 1st or 2nd positions.

Haven't our generations given #boomers enough?

I have friends who are genuinely confused when I point out to them that being politically engaged is a luxury item lots of folks don't invest time or money into. They don't think deeply about politics until and unless it directly affects them. It's an alien thought (and I get it!), but it's true.

The large battery on the Buses can be used Energy Storage:

In summer or on weekends the buses aren't used. District can store Wind, Solar or Fossil Fuel energy and sell back to the grid when needed.

Buses can be used as a mobile battery generator during natural disaster or power outages

How do they work:

Identical to Diesel bus except with a battery & electric motor
EV chargers installed at bus depots
Buses charge overnight and during mid-day breaks at depot
Buses can run 97% of all routes in US in Spring - Fall
Winter range is 30-40% less in coldest parts of country

Pros of Electric Bus

- Reduced Asthma Rates & Asthma Attacks
- Improved test scores in Math & Reading
- Less expensive maintenance & fueling cost
- Quieter; better for driver to control kids behavior & for sensory sensitive students
- Smoother; no lumpy Diesel engine leading to more alert drivers

There are 500,000 electric #schoolbuses in the United States.

12,000 of these buses are electric or will be by 2026.

Over 90% of these buses are Diesel.

Beyond Skepticism: Data Confirms Auckland's Zoning Reforms Delivered on Housing Promises Three rigorous studies, 43,500 new homes, and a 28% drop in rents: The data is in on Auckland's great housing experiment

Zoning reform is the #1 issue local government needs to tackle. The racist history of #restrictivezoning is hurting us all

I bring a sort of "let's talk about zoning" energy to the gathering that most people don't appreciate

I will agree that Ludwig has a point, people's feeling don't line up with economic numbers.

I worry in his pursuit to find an answer to why, he ignored behavioral economic studies on human biases healy.econ.ohio-state.edu/papers/Georg...

I predict this article will be all over Fox News.

The article also looks at a different measure for inflation than CPI.

It neglects to say CPI is a weighted measure. Items purchased every day like food & clothes count more than yachts and second homes.

CPI can undercount housing inflation in years of low home sales, but is otherwise accurate.

He accurately states Effective Unemployment rate is 23.4%,

What is effective unemployment? Earn below $21,150 a year or work part time? Effectively unemployed.

Ludwig has never released a graph allowing us to compare this number to history.

And while Eugene Ludwig lays out interesting solutions, he claims his conclusions show Dems were wrong without making accurate comparisons.

An example: (Continued in thread)

The headline should be "Economic Data is Accurate, but the way we look at it is wrong." But that doesn't get clicks.

Many people including @andrew-yang.bsky.social have talked about government needing more accurate assessments of #Unemployment and #Income

Voters Were Right About the Economy. The Data Was Wrong. Here’s why unemployment is higher, wages are lower and growth less robust than government statistics suggest.

Today's thoughts on Data:

The 3rd paragraph of this article states that the data is Highly Accurate, yet the title states "The Data is Wrong." Let's dive in (in Thread)

#DonaldTrump some unsolicited advice on how to lead.

When a tragedy happens, preach patience and ensure the people that you will take the time to listen to all the facts before passing judgement.

Blaming DEI, "Wokeness" and Mental/Physical disabilities shows your incompetence.
