I donβt give TWO shits whether or not a person works. I RESPECT & HONOR THEM NO MATTER WHAT. Working is not the GOAL of life! We live in a capitalist society in which we are groomed to believe that our worth is directly connected to our work. Itβs NOT. We work til we DIE. FUCK THAT!

If you make 130% of the federal poverty level, you qualify for SNAP.
A family of four, making $40,560, qualifies for SNAP benefits meaning thousands of Missouri teachers qualify.
Iβm tired of the bullshit. Most of the people who receive snap benefits work.

The disappearance of Americaβs leadership class at a time like this means that the rest of us have to be leaders. We can no longer wait to be led by those with the power and authority to lead. You must lead, I must lead, all of us must lead. We are the leaders weβve been waiting for.

The Walton family (who own Walmart) are worth over $400 billion, yet many of their employees are on SNAP.
Bezos is worth over $400 billion, many Amazon employees require SNAP.
The people who need help are not the problem.
Itβs corporate greed. Itβs an unwillingness to pay a living wage.

We need a bigger national spotlight on this building raid, fam. Agents dropped from helicopters onto the roof. Citizens and non-citizens alike were dragged from their homes in the night. People who weren't kidnapped during the raid had their belongings seized after the fact. This is madness.

Journalist Mario Guevara Speaks - Letter from ICE DETENTION FACILITY β THE BITTER SOUTHERNER
The only journalist detained by ICE on US soil, sends a letter to The Bitter Southerner.
βI do have a lot to say about the federal prison in Atlanta, where ICE transferred me on Monday, July 7.
The prison is not only old, ugly and gloomy, but it is also designed to drive people crazy.β

Iβve spent a good chunk of my career relying on American science and engineering to keep me alive. Yesterday, RFK Jr. testified at the U.S. Senate Finance Committee. It was sad to see him try to destroy the lifeβs work of so many American scientists. He shouldnβt be in this job.

When using Microsoft Word or Google Docs, don't just make text bigger and bolder to make it a heading. That will work for sighted users, but screen reader users will miss that and just hear it as normal paragraph text. Use actual heading styles, like level 1 through 6.

Why should I write better when a machine can do it for me?
Because actually no one can do it for you, because your voice is unique among all the people on earth. Siri never petted a horse's neck. Alexa has never been ghosted by the captain of the football team. But you have lived, your heart is beating, you have suffered, and you have something important to say. It's a human's job, to use words, and whatever job you give to a machine, that part of your brain goes dark. Maybe it's worth it when it comes to remembering phone numbers and directions, but when that part of your brain that uses words goes dark, that's a vast area that's very close to your soul. Don't let some internet platform convince you that what you have to say and create isn't worthwhile. Words are the echo of your soul. Honing that echo matters.

Ai is not an option here. Taking the artist out of art is a problem thatβs grown out of years of devaluing the arts and arts education. We can change this.

βWhat have I done wrong?β Trans kids go back to school bathroom bans in Scotland
Councils rushing to put policies on school bathrooms in place leave trans children facing confusion, distress and the risk of being outed.
If you're a parent with kids at school in Edinburgh it's time to get in touch with your school admin and make clear you will not accept them bullying trans kids out of education.
This is cruel and discriminatory behaviour. Child cruelty.

Remember: If we allow ourselves to fall into fatalism, or wallow in disappointment, or become resigned to what is rather than what should be, we will lose the long game.
The greatest enemy of positive social change is cynicism about what can be changed.
