New to the rare book collection this year is The Journals of Susanna Moodie by Margaret Atwood. A rare, boxed folio, this work is a limited-edition manuscript printed in 1980 and is 1 of 120 copies. This work of poetry is typeset with original serigraphs and is printed on handmade rag paper.

The Take Back the Press: Treaty Recognition Week Event takes place TODAY in the Book Arts Lab. Participants will have the opportunity to listen to guest speaker David Serkoak, to try their hand at lino cutting, and setting type to make posters on the Book Arts Lab printing presses.

Every time I see a whiteboard or blackboard like this, I think I'm going to solve something and get immediate entrance into a doctoral mathematics program.

There will a possibility of noise on the North side of the Library for the next few weeks as work takes place on Library Road.

Research in Residence sessions start up again soon! Research in Residence is an initiative by the library to bring Research Support Services to students living in residence right in Teraanga Commons. The first session is October 1 from 2 to 4 p.m.

The CrossCraft Patter Systems exhibit explores how foundational techniques from traditional crafts including knitting, quilting, embroidery, and macrame, can inspire new approaches to visual pattern-making in contemporary design.

Carleton’s updated Chosen Name process is now available to all staff and faculty via Carleton Central. This new approach improves how chosen first names are managed and displayed, allowing individuals to specify their chosen first name for use across university systems and communications platforms.
