Survived an end-of-year lunch with the moms from my 2yo’s class at daycare… how some of those women thought they were being subtle gossiping about people who were right there is absolutely beyond me. “We’re laughing with you not at you!”-type of mean girl shit 😬

Between being in the spotlight all day (😐), the money, and the inevitable drama with some of my family members, I just didn’t see the point. We did studio photos and called it a day lol.

I got my daughter the same one. Today’s (4) made me so happy. Such a cute little story already.

For my son I got the Jedi one and so far I’m not seeing the pattern yet.

Thank you. I’m extremely lucky to have family in the Netherlands who can help us out with stuff on their end, so it definitely could have been worse.

It’s been a lot of Getting Shit Done really fast over the past couple of days, and I expect that will continue for a while, at least until the end of February I guess? So the writing project is definitely on an “only if I have spoons” hiatus 🫣

We were planning a move to the Netherlands in the summer of 2025 before that, but with the house stuff we’ve had to move it up to the end of next month. 😬

Basically the owner of the house we’re renting stopped paying her loans and the bank seized our house. It got sold to new owners who want us out because this area has been insanely in demand lately and they want to sell it on before the craze dies down. (The house isn’t actually that nice.)

A different big project has popped up and it is super duper urgent. The whole thing is so crazy it could be the plot of a whole new novel, which is fun, but right now I’m living it and definitely not having fun. 😂

I was in fact taking a nap with my children at 4:15pm yesterday 😂

Setting: fantasy world with elemental magic. (MC is shapeshifter/shadow wielder)

Felt incredibly demotivated that I couldn’t think of a good title for my story, but I guess I just have to keep writing and maybe it’ll come to me!

I used to teach kindergarten, and the kids that needed the most attention for behavioral reasons always ended up being my favorites. Maybe it’s an evolution thing? 😂
