I graduated in 2023!

My mom is from Canada and up until going to DJCAD i never lived anywhere aside from Edinburgh, it just doesn't have a strong enough accent to offset my mom's imprinting 😭

it's really very funny to me that without fail every time i meet a new medical professional they say some variation of "you don't sound Scottish, where are you from?" and follow up with "and you've really never lived abroad?"
it's basically a whole routine part of appointments for me at this point

My previous birth control probably was just masking it, my current birth control I have seemingly total amenhorrhea with so like i think I'm probably good??? I just have to hope that I can remain on it for the foreseeable future 🙂‍↕️

I'm so used to being dismissed and never getting proper diagnoses and just having to accept that, so it was kind of nice to have a nurse be like "that's fucked up that they just wouldn't investigate further than they did cuz the birth control could just be masking symptoms" lowkey yea i guess??

Still thinking abt the nurse i had last week who was doing my pre-blood donation assessment who was really genuinely concerned when i mentioned being on BC for period issues, and specifically about how because the BC sorted the problem for now they refused to investigate further
