Shakespeare's words or not Shakespeare's words...that is the question? Great introduction to the 'Bard of Avon' this morning in the Panda Class, looking at a variety of vocabulary either created by Shakespeare or not.

🐨Koalas have been writing and performing their own rhyming couplets for a class version of 'Song of the Witches: Double, double toil and trouble' Lots of creative ideas shared, written and performed. Great work everyone. 🐨

🐝Bumblebees have been making lots of new friends at nursery and learning about the zones of regulation. The children have been talking about their feelings and practising ways to feel calm.

Many Thanks to the Rotary Club and President Richard Fox for visiting us this morning and presenting all our Year 3 children with their Dictionaries for Life.

Today the year 3’s had a visit from the Rotary club who gave them each an illustrated English Dictionary. A big thank you from the sharks🦈

Sharks have really enjoyed our art lesson today. We made our own paint with natural resources and spices🦈

As part of our English experience day Sharks have looked at earthquakes and practiced what to do if an earthquake happens🦈

Blood smoothies on the menu in the Panda's class this afternoon. We were looking at all the components that make up the blood, with different foods representing: red and white blood cells, platelets and plasma. Fantastic learning and understanding today. 🐼

The Panda Class were having a lovely time this afternoon looking at a pig's heart. They got to hold one, see it dissected, along with looking for specific features similar to the human heart.

🐨Koalas have been learning all about the circulation system in our science lessons, today we looked at a pig’s heart to learn about the parts and functions of the heart. 🐨

Sharks class investigated complete and incomplete circuits today in science. We explored batteries and found out about electrical currents.

Sharks class loved going down to Ducklings for some shared reading this afternoon. Thanks for having us Ducklins!🦈

Great 'Regulation Charades' from the Pandas class this afternoon - thinking about regulating things around their space or bodies. Fantastic team work too.

Bumblebees and Ducklings enjoyed a lovely storytelling session, involving art and music. The author, James Mayhew, told the story and drew the pictures whilst Caroline played the violin. The children participated well and also created their own piece of art! Thank you to James and Caroline.

Sharks class had a really good music lesson today. We are focusing on South African music and learnt to play a mimim to accompany a sound! Well done everyone!

🐝Bumblebees have settled in so well this week during their first week in nursery and have been learning new routines. They have been exploring a range of activities indoors and outdoors and making new friends. Well done Bumblebees! 🐝

Sharks class enjoyed hearing all about Edie’s performing successes and seeing her medals. Thanks for showing us!

🐨Koalas Class enjoyed their English experience day yesterday - we were using our senses to describe sweets, chocolate and biscuits to help us with our writing. Our favourite part was tasting them all! Some great vocabulary was shared such as: scrumptious, spicy, citrusy, fruity and zingy! 🐨

Year 2 went on a lovely local walk this morning to see which shops are on our local high street. They were an absolute credit to the school.

Butterflies and Dragonflies have had a wonderful start to year 2.😀

The Butterflies and Dragonflies have had such a fantastic first day back! We’ve made cakes and cards, explored some team building games in PE and we had fun counting! We can’t wait for day 2! @activelearning.bsky.social

🐨 Koalas enjoyed starting their first English topic based around the story Hansel and Gretel. We created freeze frames of key plot points and considered the feelings of each character. 🐨

Icecream, fun in the sand, building sandcastles and making art out of rock! Great fun with year 1/2
