For hard recs, there's this podcast called New Books in Critical Theory that, apropos to its title, does a decent job of curating a stream of recent titles that are representative of trends. I don't listen to most of the episodes admittedly but it's quite nice for keeping a finger on the pulse!

A lot of those writers in the 2010s were operating in the novelty of Fisher's "bad news you already know", during a time where people were still optimistic about the potential of a global future. That seems to have utterly collapsed now into terminal pessimism, both philosophically and individually.

I do think though that we've reached a point where critical theory as a philosophical project has overextended itself in the way Liz suggested, by consistently demonstrating an inability to imagine, let alone enact useful, practical ways (even just of thinking) through their stated critiques.

Byung-Chul Han is the one that immediately jumps to mind as far as individual names go. Autotheory (Preciado, Ruti, Nelson) has become really popular lately, although not really anything new theory-wise. Stiegler's work on caring has seen a resurgence as part of a larger interest in affect.
