Hard to believe the man who floated injecting bleach as a COVID cure would go to war with Greenland because he didn’t get a Nobel Peace Prize.

If courts have any integrity left they will not allow the criminal process to be abused in this way.

Hard to imagine a clearer case of abuse of process than launching a military operation to kidnap the leader of another country (killing dozens of civilians along the way), only to bring them before US courts on criminal charges.

Everything about this is insane

Tuesday my union offered to call off 2 weeks of strikes, in return for postponing the redudnacy of, maybe, 5 people for three months. Yesterday the uni wrote to all staff saying "not interested", unless we completely caved. Today we toured picket lines across campus:

When Universities are mismanaged or run into financial issues, it's always the staff and NEVER the management who lose their jobs.

On the contrary, they get above-inflation pay rises that are the equivalent to one or two of the full time jobs they cut.

The students texted each other, started organizing, and eventually discovered the ability to perform a simple act to put the world’s wealthiest and most powerful law firms on the defensive. They created a spreadsheet. “Fascist Attacks Tracker” After Trump signed executive orders singling out law firms for political retribution, the students recorded BigLaw’s responses in a document they titled “Legal Industry Responses to Fascist Attacks Tracker.”

And I should say this is only shocking because we have also normalised salaries of less than £50k… There are newly qualified first year trainees in law firms asking for our expert opinions making more than that

It’s so disheartening just how normalised it has become for a job ad that requires the applicant to have attained the highest academic degree possible in human higher education to offer a salary of less than £35k a year. It’s crazy.
