Now I work in the DEI space, which was a big side step for me. It's a challenging time to work in diversity, but it affords me the luxury to bring my whole self to work - something that everyone should feel empowered to do.

Tonight I'm off to the ballet, to see an all male production of Swan Lake.
The arts have been pushing the boundaries of gender for hundreds of years, understanding the role that gender plays in the stories we tell, exploring themes like love, self and roles
But there are several other causes, raising money to help in different ways - challenging the national, systemic, and attitudinal barriers that keep trans people oppressed. I'll be signposting then where I can
I'll also try to raise awareness of issues faced by the trans community through the month
GTC have been raising funds for a support phoneline, to help trans+ people in Glasgow fleeing hardship, as well as an emergency fund for those who need it.
This kind of frontline action can make huge differences to the people who need it the most.
I asked many of the queer people in my life what causes might be the most impactful to raise money for, which would have the most meaningful positive impact for trans people.
This Pride month, I'm raising money for a local organisation: Glasgow Trans Collective.

It's no secret that this year has been difficult for the LGBTQ+ community, with transphobia on the rise - both systemically and individually. I don't want to just stand by.
