04.06.2025 22:02 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Fun fact: all toads are frogs but not all frogs are toads.
27.04.2025 17:17 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0The edge of a pond with three tiny baby toads crawling out of the water over the leaves and petals of a tulip poplar tree and smooth river rocks.
Look y'all: baby toads.

Pea season has begun. π

If you need me, I'm hiding somewhere that looks like this.

17.04.2025 21:53 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I'm so sorry for your loss. She was always kind to me on Twitter and I had wondered what happened to her. Hoping you and your family get the time and space to grieve.
05.04.2025 15:56 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I created another gallery in my kofi of raindrop photos. One of my favorite things is the way raindrops collect differently on each leaf and flower.

Thank you!
29.03.2025 14:42 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I made an album in my Kofi gallery that's just butterflies and moths. I'm going to spend all growing season trying to get photos of every single one I see in the gardens. They're free to look at.

Four photo collage: side view of a pale pink tulip with tiny water droplets, looking into the same pale pink tulip to see the yellow and black inside, two small pale yellow daffodils, looking up at a peach blossoms from below with the water droplets outlined through the thin petals
Spring is here.
25.03.2025 02:12 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0PS I'm going to be posting videos and photos in the coming days on my Kofi if you'd like to peruse those. Just posted a short video of a walk I took in the fall a couple years ago. Clearing space in my storage to make room for this season's photos. π€

Five photo collage: yellow swallowtail butterfly on peach blossoms, fully formed blueberry flowers, a honeybee on holly flowers, coral honeysuckle in bloom, a strawberry plant with three small flowers and more developing.
Happy spring equinox, everyone!
May your days be full of wonder and joy.
May your gardens grow and produce abundant harvest.
May you know safety and peace.
It's supposed to be rainy and cool on the first day of spring, so we celebrated today by removing a bunch of invasive honeysuckle from the wild strawberry patch, planting peas, saying hello to dozens of pollinators, and playing in the sprinkler.
19.03.2025 21:09 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I planted more seeds, today. Some inside, some outside. Dill, parsley, basil, carrots, chard, sunflowers, tomatoes, mystery pumpkins, wildflowers. I also transplanted two lemon balms that needed new homes. I love spring.
16.03.2025 20:11 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0The yellow and purple of the daisy wins for me.
16.03.2025 19:28 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Unfortunately, my tomatoes and peppers are not doing well. The seed starting mix I used dried out so quickly and I simply couldn't keep them moist enough. I'm going to try another round and see how they do. The room I had them in also got a bit too cold, I think. Live and learn.
16.03.2025 16:30 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Five photo collage featuring a close up images of different plants: red lettuce, bright green peas, bright green Swiss Chard, tiny radish sprouts, and even tinier carrot sprouts just starting to produce real leaves.
Garden update: lettuce, peas, chard that survived the winter, radish, and carrot are all doing amazing. Spring is almost here, we're only a few weeks from last frost. Some lovely growth out there.
16.03.2025 16:30 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Looking up at a peach tree branch covered in pale pink flowers with bright blue sky behind.
POV you're walking through the gardens and look up to see the peach blossoms have opened.
12.03.2025 11:27 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0My kid has a sorting game with 25+ colorful mini muffins and all parents reading this will know what happened next:
there are muffins
everywhere
under my pillows (not theirs)
in the recliner
in pockets
in corners
under shelves
under feet
muffins
in
every
room
muffins everywhere
A small cluster of pink buds at the end of a brown stem, one is much lighter in color and full, almost open.
Blueberry flowers soon.
The frogs are loud, again.
Weather's changing.
Spring is coming.
I'm sure it'll be fine
that our 'dear' leader
(a rich, selfish man)
will let us starve and die
if it means a rise
in the profit line.
Three photo collage: a maple tree covered in red buds, a yellow daffodil lit from behind by the sun, and two pale pink peach flowers.
Struggling hard, tonight. Thankful for flowers and the buds on trees in spring.

22.02.2025 00:10 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Daydreaming about warm spring days with my hands in the dirt, the sound of bees buzzing as they visit the newly opened flowers, the sun hot on the back of my neck. I forgot my hat again, even in my imagination.
12.02.2025 13:11 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0The coral honeysuckle and red maple have started putting out buds. Peas are poking up through the leaves and my chives are suddenly 4" tall. My oregano, thyme, sage, rosemary, lemon balm, bronze fennel, and lavender are all sending out new leaves. I love spring so much.
