Just came back from ChaO screening. Super cute movie, enjoyed it a lot! I especially love how it uses tiny things in its visual storytelling to set up some fun twists and developments in the second half.
Tons of gorgeous backgrounds and amusingly cute character designs too!

Moderoids are available at almost every online shop that sells anime figures and kits, like AmiAmi, HLJ and so on. Good Smile Company also has official online shop where you can buy all their products.
No word on release date yet

This scene is even funnier considering how blatantly it is set up to happen. It is one of the very few episodes where Srungle actually gets visibly damaged and characters even comment on the parts it loses

It also features a scene that is a direct reference to the famous Last Shooting from the OG Gundam.
Srungle has a lot of references and cameos in general, but episodes animated by Masami Shimoda and Nishimura Motohide seem to be especially notable in that regard.

Episode 22 looks pretty darn good in general, with solid drawings and good boarding all around. I especially like how it uses reflections and gives us some cool glimpses inside of the cockpits

Srungle performing a flashy kanada kick, not even to hit the enemy directly but to blast it with a thruster on the back of its leg, is such an insanely cool power move.

Bonus points for awesome and eyecatching effects shapes

The Bobby Book: Toshio Hirata Interview

"I wanted to adapt it into a pleasant, animated film composed of a series of imagined landscapes and refreshing, cinematic poetry."

Like, seeing them in a SRW game at all is great, but considering how 30 handled the DLC series I'm not hoping for much relevance to the main story besides some fun cross series interactions.

Just saw the SRW Y DLC announcement and I'm so happy to see Big O and Braiger back, and Da Garn making his SRW debut. All the Kamen Riders are also a nice surprise.
I just really wish they were a part of the main cast instead...

My favorite example though is this scene near the end of the episode, where Marco opens the forbidden door and finally breaks the illusion. The final shot, where hand-drawn Marco stands in the middle of real ruins, is especially powerful.

(Rapid flashing warning!!)

Also, while the entire show is a collage of animation and real life footage, I think this is the first time they blend together so well. Marco's frantic run through the ruins of a palace is a good example of how cleverly Hirata mixes them together to enhance the surreal feeling

There are also a lot of examples of really creative and eyecatching framing

I really like how Hirata contrasts the colorful, dreamlike scenes where Marco enjoys princess Bidu'a's company with much more gloom and sometimes disturbing scenes where he roams alone around the unknown streets of Baghdad

Marco Polo no Bouken #08

Toshio Hirata brings some of his magic to the show - an incredibly oneiric and fairytale-like episode, in a lot of ways very reminiscent of Hirata's Kin no Tori, though much more somber than whimsical in overall tone.

(Late)Birthday party loot

I love the SaGa Glimmer Lightbulb stick! I always wanted to have one since I saw people waving them around during SaGa events!
I also got a badge with Isami (perfect for Bravern!) and an acrylic stand with Atsuko Ishida's art. And RG 1/144 Banshee Norn

As much as I love Gunleon though, I have a few problems with this kit. Not a fan of excessive partsforming or the way they handled the cockpit, and his holding hands are ridiculously brittle. It also requires quite a lot of painting for perfect color accuracy, esp. on weapons.

I've finally assembled and painted my Gunleon so here are a few quick pics with guest appearance from Lio Convoy.
Still need to paint a few details on his giant wrench and weapons in general, but I'm glad to finally own a figure of one of my favorite SRW Originals.

Moderoid Bravern assembled.
My biggest complaint is the sheer amount of stickers the kit comes with (quite unusual compared to other Moderoids I've built). I've quickly decided it's better to paint the kit than to deal with them. But other than that he is mighty cool!

MAKENAAAAAIZE MAKENAAAAAIZE MAKENAAAAAAAAIZE!

I wasn't planning to buy anything on a con, but that Gunleon was too tempting.

I need to buy a new brush to touch up some details on his wrench.

Mecha Smile Impact announcements I'm the most excited about. I yelled upon seeing Bismarck and MGII!

Dai Apollon was also an unexpected surprise and I wonder how they will handle Dairugger XV. It will be a challenge to make a good figure consisting of 15 combinable components

Birthday Bravern!

I wish I could start assembling him right away, but currently I'm too busy finishing up my panels for an upcoming convention.

Also I love how there is "Ao Isami not included" disclaimer on the box lol.

I appreciate how skillfully Kawajiri utilizes feverish colors, limited animation, sound and lighting to highlight how horrific the fight with Qara'unas is for young Marco. Everything happens so fast that the scared boy can only hear the sounds of swinging and colliding blades.

In Ambassador Magma #03, evil aliens pursuing the protagonists gradually infiltrate the city and replace its inhabitants. Praiseworthy is how the entire episode cleverly utilizes framing to reinforce the eerie feeling of being constantly watched by some unknown entities.
