when you scream ableism at everything, it causes this lil problem where the word gets incredibly devalued and loses its significance so when ACTUAL FUCKING ABLEISM is happening it's that much harder to call it out

If however many democrats go against the party and cave on the shutdown vote I get the feeling it isn’t going to be “primary the shitty ones”, rather it’s gonna be “blame the whole party and punish them yet again, thus plunging us deeper into fascism”

(This was also spotted in some...conservative pockets near where I live which would suggest they're intentionally muddying the waters for those who aren't informed. Which I mean, is SOP for them, honestly.)

As for why I say this: Was driving earlier and saw the No Kings insignia slathered all over some No on 50 signs, almost as if to suggest the No Kings movement endorsed No on 50 (which it very much doesn't)

I do think there's like, some benefit to movements and the like having a central group of figures that can unequivocally state that hey, someone trying to use our movement for whatever gain does not align with us and are not condoned (and ideally issuing some form of a cease and desist)

Further, because of the electoral college “not voting” just benefits the fascists. So yeah. Maybe reconsider that stance. I get it, your ideal candidate didn’t win primaries but I think I’d rather vote for someone I 60% agree with than someone I 0% agree with and wants me and my friends dead.

Also remember that you have a platform. Good for you if you don’t want to vote. But when you blast that out on main you inadvertently influence other people to not vote and this can have disastrous consequences in swing districts.

(Look at how close prop 50’s vote was in Fresno county!)

I’m definitely feeling hopeful after the elections this month. But I also hope this communicates loud and clear that we need. To. Show. Up.

Even if you don’t get your ideal candidate: show. Up.

Vote your heart in the primaries, vote for harm reduction in the general.

Then again I’m pretty sure 90% of these people are bots because they all look the same and they all say the exact same lines every single time, they have no originality whatsoever
