why would anybody want to play a game nobody could be bothered to make
But if it could be done, it'd stop me having to search the boat for missing books.
And I'd have one more Chest of Fortune.
I'm sure there's some dull reason the loot on the ship isn't already enumerated. It could be a lot of items, though they could be ordered by value, and excess shown as eg "+27 items". Perhaps loot doesn't have value until it's sold, or it's not worth adding all the icons for just one screen.

After a long and arduous PVP battle at a Fort of Fortune, we sold our loot and dove out. The dive stalled in the tunnels, so we cancelled it, and re-voted to dive.
As our brig started to descend again, we spotted the Chest of Fortune in the water. The one we'd safely stowed in the crow's nest.
I almost always get this warning due to a forgotten, low value journal. If I knew from this screen that's all it was, I would choose to dive instead of cancelling and scouring the ship to make sure.
However, there is one time I remember when it wasn't just a journal...
Diving With Treasure warning modal in Sea of Thieves. The modal warns that "You currently have treasure on your ship. Diving will cause it to be lost. Are you sure you want to dive?" A row of treasure icons has been added to show what this treasure is.
As a pirate who leaves treasure everywhere...
I would like the Diving With Treasure warning to tell me which items are actually on the boat...
So that I can make a meaningful decision here on if I want to dive or not.
